A Knight Before Christmas:

Twas a knight before Christmas and all through his house

Our lord was feeling more like a creature and a louse

He hung his lights and his chores

But Xmas this year was an awful bore

Situations that no one control kept inciting

And all the while, the knight, kept abiding 

And it lowered his mood, truth be told

Because another December, with no one to hold

But instead of a darkness, and instead of the gloom

Something funny popped out of brood and doom

A realization that Christmas was more than good cheer

It was always a celebration of surviving the year

And memories of Xmas past weren't all colored rosey

In fact, some years seemed more hustle than mosey

It was around here he realized that St. Nick's a spirit

And he had a choice; to further, or to kill it

When choices are stark, and choices are clear

Becoming Santa for a bit, sounds really quite dear

And so the Knight gathered movies and games and friends

And watched another dry Christmas come to an end

But not before thanks, and not before feast

And not before having just a few too many treats

And Knight says, in the season unending:

I understand the emotional overbudget you're spending

But know that this Christmas, because of you

Is something that I'm cherishing too.

So he said to his dears, reined or Un:

Thank you for surviving.
