Let's talk about Salt's writing for a second because this is very good. It's not just a typical "getting fatter" story but something that has depth and meaning between two friends (lovers?) who struggle with weight and food addiction.

I'd beg to differ, his writing is amazing at times. But i feel like this comic is on a bit of a downward spiral. Making olivia gain weight was unfortunate tbh and ruined the comic for me because i feel like it was a back step in her character development

There's still a bit to go for story. We never know what Salt is thinking. Regardless, the writing is good, even if people fall back. I know most of us, myself included, don't want to Olivia fall back, but that can make for good writing too.

in my opinion it's not necessarily a back step in her character development just cuz she stopped losing weight. there's been an insane amount of miscommunication between her and brooke since the beginning of tipping the scales and we don't actually know how she feels yet. she might decide that she does want to lose weight again, or that she's okay with being bigger now. we just have to wait and see.

I’m gonna give a quick critique: while I have been enjoying seeing these characters and the writing and character development has been fun to watch to read and watch, I do feel like this comic has been failing a bit as a weight gain comic. In terms of seeing Brooke or Olivia in fun angles and sequences while binging food. Still I’m here to see the comic till its last pages

I gotta agree with you on that, I was kinda hoping this wouldn't be a fit to fat to fit again kinda story only because I think it will take away from the weight gain aspect of the comic with time skips and with more dialogue kinda like with this page and maybe the next one too? (this is just my opinion of course :v ... Also I know there's some pages left so I can be completely wrong lol)

Kind of is tbh, olivia in tipping the scales was actually super motivated when losing weight and at the end of tipping the scales and the start of the new comic she was very insistent on having brooke come for a work out. Now all of a sudden because she has a burger she starts over eating and getting bigger again. Its just really unfortunate and bad writing tbh, It would of been great writing to have a contrast with the characters. Brooke being fat because she wants to live life simpler and despite olivia trying to help her lose some pounds it would of been cool to see her become an enabler without realising

i don’t think her being motivated before means she has to keep losing weight forever for her development to count. character motivations can change over time. she’s still consistently going to the gym 100 days later even after regaining, so that part of her character clearly hasn’t disappeared. and it wasn’t “one burger and suddenly she starts overeating” either cuz the comic shows months of her and brooke repeatedly eating out together while still working out. wanting the weight contrast to continue is fine but that’s a preferred direction, not really an argument that this one is bad writing. plus we still don’t even know what olivia thinks about the regain yet.
