They killed him…

And with this unfortunate tragedy, Breaking the Scales comes to an end. This was a nice project to work on! I had a lot of fun with it and I hope most of you did too (I know some of you are bummed that Olivia gained her weight back but I hope you still enjoyed the direction her character went in).

How will their story continue from this point? I mean, they’ll probably get a new couch.

Going out with a bang. And a noise complaint from the downstairs neighbor

Alex

killJax

I love that there full lol cute 🥰

Showtime

COUCH-KUN NOOOOOO!!!! Rest in pieces my friend. You did well to last this long. I guess best friends belch alike. What a wonderful ending. Big, fat, and stuffed. Can't end a great comic without someone on the floor! Thank you for the journey Salt! Scales officially CRUSHED!

Melissa Eclipse

They might be ons but I still want to be between them on that couch

Hee-Ho Man

That couch soldiered on to the end 🫡 Amazing work on this comic Salt it was nice seeing Brooke and Olivia again!

DAPhrogman

The couch made a noble sacrifice. May the couch rest in pieces.

Wingman23

Seems like they gotta… share the scale with a new personal trainer… hope she doesn’t pick up any new habits…

Daniel Arroyo

Dios mío así termina mi historia favorita espero ver más historias así y ver más de ellas aún que sea una nueva imagen

Smartie

Now one of them should get a partner so they can take care of them when they go full blob

Funky chunky

This was fun! It was pretty funny to see the direction you went with

RottonLuck

Fully enjoyed the comic from being end. Glad both of them seems to have a better undertaking of each other and are having fun together as well. Hope we can see more of them in the future. And RIP couch.

Alex Vega Morales

Bummed? Well, I'm absolutely delighted! Seeing the two girls getting heavier together and becoming so huge—not to mention that touch of "slob" about them—seemed like the best possible way to wrap up this comic. Congratulations, great work!

Brandon Pierce

Rip in pieces, your sacrifice was not in vain 😌

Toon Boy

Hope they can afford to get an new couch lol

Toon Boy

Salt, thank you for revisiting these characters again! Though we were surprised where the direction was going at times, it was still a fun watch and read!

Mochi

hope we get an extra ilustration like beach stuff!

Miles Durlam

"A small price to pay for salvation" "I'm sorry little one" "I am inevitable"

Kyte

Oh to be a couch

Vatic

Rip scales the couch

Kris Dawson

Yeah, bummed is one word for it. The art is spectacular as always and the character direction was interesting... But, personally, I kinda predicted how this was generally gonna turn out, and would've preferred if Olivia accepted that she couldn't lose all her weight. I know I'm probably in the minority, but the outcome makes me sad :(

Stuffie's Aircade

So glad Olivia ballooned up again, she looks so GOOD and content stuffed to the gills! I'm glad both ladies are happier and heavier than before.

william malone

Hopefully we’ll see more of Brooke and Olivia i really like them

Jackal Valcoun

While I enjoyed Olivia’s slimmer strong-fit look, you’re the creator Salt and these are your characters! Do whatever you like to them, and we’ll be here to enjoy it!

Dunchester

This comic was possibly the best you've ever done, I'm just bummed that it's over! I want to see what comes next: they're both the fattest they've ever been, how do they react in the sober light of day? I want to see them step on the scale; numbers would be great, but even just their reactions... I hope you give other OCs this kind of long-form story treatment. I'm still pulling for a Kate comic!

lunardeath99

I'm glad their bond got stronger and I will admit I was one of the few sad about her gaining again after going through so much effort before but I'm glad they'r relationship got stronger and moral of the story as long as you're doing stuff together it's all good

Brebonsfw

I got a kick out of this series! I personally like that Olivia gained her weight back

Toon Boy

It looks like she downcast she couldn’t lose all her weight though. She got fatter

Tobias Charleston

I thoroughly enjoyed it and have no problem with Olivia relapsing. I'm glad they worked through their issues and landed in a happier place

Kris Dawson

Except she had a line on a previous page where she said the exercise was *never* about losing weight. Which in itself contradicts the first comic where, at the end, Liv proudly said she was down to 220lbs. So it's like her motivations changed or something between comics? It feels like a plothole.

isaias Morales

Looking forward for a explicit version

Chardawg

Rip Couch, he died with two fat women sitting on his face

Nen

Would love to see what they look like in a few more years

Dango

Olivia relapsing was incredible!

Juan Táctico

What a great ending and they made the honor to the title. Just Change scale for Coach. Jajaja

Kyle Karnage

That was fun, i liked it quite a bit. Though i certainly wouldn't mind seeing something that leans a little darker in the future. I rather liked the part where Brooke started to avoid the gym and Olivia so her bad eating habits didn't rub off on her and undo her weight loss progress further. and would love to see something like that expanded upon.

Di90

Not an ending of my liking but ok

Sarah F

Agreed, it's like why go out of the way to have a weight loss goal and just ignore it for the fetish again, like I like the weight gain normally, here it just feels, wrong, gross almost.

Sarah F

Sexy ending but yeah I'm definitely part of the group dissatisfied with the ending, like why go out of the way to make a character want to change and just relapse and it supposed to be a good ending? Like replace weight gain with smoking or alcohol and it's pretty fucked up due to implications. Like idk I could've enjoyed the turn if at least it was a fat and muscle mix to show a healthy balance of fitness and gluttony it would've been an interesting change

Captain Booyah

I just bummed they're not gonna get even bigger. Great run!

Funky chunky

Mf are you really moral measuring with a fetish comic?

Funky chunky

This was a good issue, idk why people are complaining they didn’t keep off the weight loss, it’s way funnier to have them yo-yo weight loss and have waves of skinniness and fatness like a Homer Simpson. Keep up the good work

Matt

I feel like this should have just been a new comic. The only difference that was made by this being a larger continuity made it worse imo. Like obviously I’m a guy that pays money to look at erotic comics, I’m expecting weight gain in your work and I like the art, but if the idea is to make longer comics with longer plots, why is the plot just undoing everything the previous comic did? The character depth attempting to come out on page 11/25 was almost as jarring as when it immediately went away again and it was just a wg montage. For me it just didn’t work and I’ve been waiting for that “THE END” since August.

Guy Face Thrace

Or, she could have been struggling with the fat shame and "fitness goals are the only goals a person can have" of it all? And then got over that when she and Brooke found something that looked better for each of them? My take? Brooke wanted to not work so hard, but then switched to wanting to slow her growth, and add muscle. Liv wanted to keep the strength, help her friend, and find her ideal shape. I'd see it as both doing some positive changing. Thinner =/= better

2026-09-20 09:00 I think that stories like these work best as a ongoing series(or more pages i mean) I know these type of comics are supposed to be limited but that is what kinda kills my enjoyment for me personally. Some of the best moments for me were seeing why Brooke decided to let go and the different outing’s they went on I really wish they weren’t just montages. Also not sure how I feel about the miscommunication between them it kinda took away the weight gain aspect of the comic with the dialogue and time skips. But The art style is more polished and improved from the last comic I didn’t really mind them both getting huge, I really enjoyed them both being fat best friends and the wholesome vibes they we’re giving at the end. Overall I’m glad we got to see these two again and hopefully more in the future.

Never mind. I never intended to upset anybody.

Yu

Your just critiquing like everyone else it’s fine. Also it’s not like your criticism is coming from out of no where after all the first comic was all about helping Olivia to loss weight it’s only natural to think she will continue to lose more weight in the following 😅.

Joe

i bet brooke cant get up by herself

Apollo C

This was a good comic, and I personally really enjoyed the story! Sorry the reception isn’t 100%; I think a lot of us in the community have stuff to unpack around fatness in the real world that affects our enjoyment of stories involving weight *loss* rather than pure fictionalized gain.

TheWallowingWeeb

I always wanted Olivia to get huge again, thank you

Jack Wood

It's not the ending I was hoping for, but I appreciated the character development nevertheless. In general, I love seeing your characters interact and will always be happy to see more development and time with your OC's! I'm especially glad we got more of Olivia and Brooke in general and I hope to see more of them in the future!

Gabriel

This was peak friendship and acceptance, Bravo!

MooseRoom

“They lived fattly ever fatter”

This is the worst work from Better-with-Salt, and I'm very disappointed. I absolutely loved the first one, "Tipping the Scales," it was practically my favorite, and I was always looking forward to a sequel. Unfortunately, my happiest moments were limited to the cover and the first couple of pages. The further I read, the more disappointed I became. By the end, I just wanted to beg you to stop writing, because it was a predictable mess. I don't mind you writing about Olivia gaining weight again, the two of them getting fat together, the emotions between the girls, or the psychological analysis—I don't care. I've seen plenty of those things before, and you've written them well in other works too. Your artwork is as excellent as ever, but why did you write this one so badly? The whole story boils down to wanting everything, resulting in everything being written like garbage. There are conflicts, contradictions, and satire, but it's all too bland, far inferior to the first book, far inferior to "Enough for Five," and far inferior to "Compress to Impress." There's psychological analysis, but it's too superficial, far inferior to "Losing Control." There's a depiction of the relationship between two girls, but it's written very crudely, failing to allow the reader to fully feel the depth of their emotions, far inferior to "Couple Stuff." Even the description of obesity is far inferior to "Beach Bod." Seriously, if you don't have the ability, don't cram everything in. You're an artist; you should know that randomly mixing different paints results in a color close to shit. What infuriates and leaves me speechless is, what does your entire work have to do with the title "Breaking the Scales"? What did you break? Are you saying you went off-topic for the first 19 pages, and then broke a sofa on the last page and called it staying on topic? What, you only realized you'd gone completely off-topic after page 17, so you had to extend the page count and come up with this terrible way to get back on track? Are you trying to fool us readers? If you haven't figured out how to write the story, don't write it at all. Or find someone who can write it. Your drawing is actually quite good; don't waste it.
