Proof of Life #310: Two smaller updates (Patreon)

Hello gentlemen and gentlewomen from around the world, I hope you’re having a pleasant morning/afternoon/evening. While you’re sipping on some tea, why not read this week’s progress report as well? High class entertainment for very refined people indeed.

So, to start the PoL with some extremely unexpected report, I worked on the game! I swear I did!... More seriously, I did a good amount of work and finished the first scene + tested it entirely. This ended up being quite long. The idea was to have a bunch of freeroam-length scenes back to back in different contexts, and it ended up being two medium length scenes with some freeroam events in-between all bundled into a rather extensive scene.

I have now started working on the story segment leading to the extra scene and, eventually, to the last scene of the update.

Indeed, rather than one huge update, I decided to cut the content into two smaller updates that might prove easier to digest. After all, there’s still a bunch of content I want to add before the endings. The first update will be more focused on the Cyanna-Rose-Leto trio, and the second one will be more story-oriented. Both of them put together should offer a satisfying conclusion to the main game before branching into the endings.

Besides, I’d forgotten about the TT tournament I need to set up to complete Charlotte’s storyline as well as an optional scene for her, which would require even more work, hence why I decided to split the remaining content into two. The waiting time would have been too long otherwise. I’ll keep the Triple Trident tournament for next update.

Okay so...wait, so you're now done with the first scene and is currently working on some story that's gonna lead into the extra scene, which is then going to be followed by the last scene. Is the regular version of this Update only going to have 2 scenes in it ? If so, how likely is it that we'll get the Update before the end of March ?

2 scenes + 1 extra scene and a bunch of freeroam events. Also, I might also have to create a few more maps for a story segment with sexy events in it I have in mind. So, uh, end of March doesn't sound too likely unfortunately, but I can't say for sure.

By "freeroam events" you mean the first scene with the small freeroam events here and there, or you mean like actual freeroam events like the ones that you add at the end of every quest ? Cause the trigger for the freeroam events are completed quests and i assumed that you will be dividing 1 quest into 2 separate updates for Update25 & Update26, and so because of that i thought that you wouldn't be making any actual freeroam events for this Update and that instead you'd release them with Update26.

Triggers for freeroam events aren't necessarily the end of a quest, they could happen after one quest objective is completed. For example, the current MQ (MQ29) has been going on for two updates and I've added freeroam events every time. This current update and the next one will also be MQ29. So yeah, when I said freeroam events I meant the ones I actually write about in the changelog^^ I'll probably have two for this update and two for the next one, something like that.

Looking good brother! Just a quick question, is it possible to make the caravan shake a bit, while they're going at it? Or maybe some mist on the window, because of the heat and sweat is getting condensed, like the car scene in Titanic. That and some creeking would add some flavours to the scene in my opinion ^^

Not gonna lie every time i see these cutscenes i get sad for the MC i know it's an NTR game but still, Hopefully the Revenge Ending would be something on the line like all the MC antagonist get turned in women or something and they suffer like rose and everyone else did. just speaking my mind.

Ahead of you^^ You have no idea how much I struggled to make the carriage shake left and right and match its movements with the window so it doesn't look weird. The window is a separate sprite that will have some variations, hence why I had to make it separate from the rest. I could look into adding some creaking as well, if I find some appropriate BGS.

I can imagine! Just seeing the engine behind the scenes makes my head spin. I do love the pixel look of the carriage and horse though, looking like peak pokemon on the DS haha!
