Proof of Life #320: You're a Triple Trident champion, Leto! (Patreon)

Hello everyone, how’s it going on this fine morning/afternoon/evening? Another Monday, another PoL, another proof that I’m alive and working on the game. Although maybe I’ve been kidnapped by aliens and replaced by one of them? Why would aliens do that, you may ask? Well, ask them, not me! But replaced by an alien or not, I’ll make sure to keep you updated on the game’s progress.

The past week has been kind of a weird mix of testing, creating maps, and developing the story, depending on my mood.

With the Triple Trident tournament happening in parallel with the story, I can basically work on it whenever I want, so I’ve been doing a lot of that while waiting for commissions to catch up with the story. I would playtest the game up to the part that still has placeholders, then shift my focus to the tournament instead.

So, the good news is that the “main part” of the tournament is done. All opponents have been implemented, and I’ve tested most of them. Honestly, they’re not that hard to beat. I’ve also finished writing the “winning” part, where Leto wins and saves Charlotte, and I’m currently in the middle of writing the scene that happens if he loses. Whether you win or lose, or whether you’re in partial PoV or omni PoV, the scene will be unlocked in the reminiscence room, so you don’t have to lose on purpose to see it.

The bad news is that, at best, Cyanna’s new portrait will be sent to me in the second half of June (at the earliest), so I’m not sure if it’ll make it into the update. We’ll see, but I’m not going to wait for it to release the game.

I think that’s about it for this PoL. For those who aren’t interested in Triple Trident, I apologize for focusing so much on it, but I’ll most likely be entirely done with it in the next few days so I can go back to working solely on the story. Also, the screenshot is unrelated to Triple Trident. Cyanna didn't hurt herself playing a card game, this isn't Yu-Gi-Oh! (more like Yu-Gi-H*e!, hehe)

1; You only mentioned Cyanna's portrait possibly not arriving in time, so does that mean that Rose's portait will be done by the time you finish the Update ? Is Rose even getting a new portrait ? AFAIK you didn't mention hers even once so far. 2; If Cyanna's portait will arrive in the second half of June and that makes it highly unlikely that the Update will not be released before that, does that mean that the Update is close to being finished ? I mean, "close" as in it'll be done within the next 3 weeks ?

Good day. First I'd like take a moment to say that I absolutely love the game so far. I played the free build and simply had to pay for a time well spent. I do have a question, though. I just paid for the $5 teir but for some reason can't see the content of less teirs. Is this an issue or do I have to pay multiple times to see a lower teirs contents? Thanks for any information you can provide.

You are able to see lower tier content if yours is above them, if you are on the app it might be a bug that happens when you subscribe, has happened to me a couple of times, closing the app and opening it again has fixed it for me on both occasions

There is no content below the $5 tier besides the PoLs, which i know you can see because we are currently in the comment section of one. The only other thing that i guess could be categorized as "content" are the links for the public releases, but those are literally available for everyone, meaning that you don't even need to be subscribed for those. The TLDR is that if you can see the PoLs then you can see all the content that there is for the lower tiers.

1. Both Rose and Cyanna will be getting a new full body portrait for this update. I have yet to commission the one for Rose, but from what I understood, the artist is busy with other stuff and will only be able to take care of mine from June 15th *at the earliest*. Hopefully, I can send him the intructions for Rose's new portrait before that (still not 100% sure what I want for her) and he'll do both portraits at the same time. 2.I messed up the PoL. I meant to say second half of June would be the earliest date he could send me the new portrait(s). It could be July for all I know. Considering I have 3 more scenes to do (TT, extra, last scene of the updae), some story, and bunch of freeroams for Rose, Cyanna and maybe Lily and/or Rose and one last mini-story to finish, 3 weeks seems unlikely unfortunately.

Honestly, the fact that she lies to Leto with that face and that expression, saying she hurt her back from a fall, while her face practically shows how much she enjoyed having Ulrod and the Duke wreck her ass with the dicks she clearly loves so much at this point, honestly makes it really hard for me to even feel bad or have the slightest bit of pity for her XD

Well, I mean, considering that there have usually been around 6–8 PooLs for each of the updates that are part of the main quest, and as of today there have already been 5 PooLs, which basically translates to 5 weeks of development, the numbers would suggest that there are probably only about 3 weeks left, corresponding to the remaining 3 PooLs for this update. But I guess, taking into account the country move and the schedule changes, it would make sense to expect some delay compared to the amount of development weeks we were normally used to seeing before getting a main quest update.

N_Taii, you’re literally going to have to give Leto a master class in sex, because after everything these girls have experienced through their corruption with the antagonists, I seriously doubt virgin Leto is going to be able to sexually satisfy them in either the revenge ending or the happy ending XD

Ah yeah that's right, i completely forgot that we're still at the first scene of the Update, or rather, judging by the PoL, we're right after the first scene of the Update. I just knew that you released the previous Update for the public about 2 weeks ago by now and so i just based my guess on that, but yeah, if there are still that many scenes & freeroams are in the queue then 3 weeks is out of the question.

Also, Alejandro, N_Taii moved to Japan around Christmas/New Year's Eve (if i remember correctly), now i'm sure that his everyday schedule has changed somewhat compared to when he was still living in Europe, but him moving to another country is not something that i think we should "take into account" 5 months later.

@Alejandro Magno I'm actually done with moving, so this isn't much of an issue anymore. What's taking a bit longer here is the entire Triple Trident tournament that works as an extra on top of the main storyline. I've had to create all the cards, create the opponents, create the map, add NPCs, make sure everything functions as intended, and develop two outcomes depending on how the last duel goes. One outcome is pretty short, but one is an entirely new scene which I'm currently developing.

@Matoga If you're basing yourself off the screenshot to determine where I am in terms of development, don't^^ I'm just choosing these based on what would look nice in a PoL, and I've actually done quite a lot already since the screenshot you're seeing (well, a good chunk of it was either the TT tournament or adding the new maps for the story). I'm actually pretty close to the second/last "main scene", although I'll have to develop the extra scene before that.

One important thing, N_Taii: I think whether you win or lose the tournament should depend on which ending route the player is currently on—whether it's the Netorare, Happy, or Revenge ending path. Because honestly, I don’t think it would make much sense if we win the tournament, but most of our choices up to that point have clearly been pushing toward the Netorare ending, and then Charlotte is simply saved anyway. If the player is already on the Netorare path at that point, I think the most logical outcome would be that, no matter how hard we try to win the tournament, we ultimately end up losing. At least that's how I see it. I'm curious to hear what everyone else thinks.

Honestly, Triple Trident was never really meant to be tied to the main story. It was always supposed to be its own thing, a little extra to give players a way to enjoy another type of gameplay if they wanted. That's why I don't want the route to matter, but rather whether people were interested enough to play all the way to the final tournament.
