Seems like a middle school level of difficulty English education is too hard for Saki. Hopefully she will get some help with the homework

I can’t really blame Saki for wanting to get back in the water. It’s basically a second home for her (a wild prospect considering she’s a human and exactly what she does while in it). I’m also looking forward to their little contest. Still hoping for another round in the shrine maiden’s bikini; it could serve as an intimidation factor when the other two realize how much she’s capable of while wearing as little as possible.

I don’t think that Saki was shown to be wanting to go back into the water in this page. But rather to learn English seeing how that was her main reason for wanting to go to school and get a normal education.

Saki dove not for pleasure, but to search for someone she cared about, and found she had an incredible talent in the process. Since meeting the cousins, she’s used that talent to make inroads until she can consider them friends. Not just that, but she then discovered the person she was diving for was not just alive but cared for her deeply (even giving her his blessing to continue the freediving by allowing her to return alone to Japan). Now she’s been put on a pedestal by two other girls because of her ability, and is trying to bond with them in her own “unique” way. At this point I would think the Shrine Maiden is mature enough to understand that while she may not have originally liked diving or her reason for doing it, it’s become a fundamental piece of who she is, and the identity that others see her as. Essentially, she should be moving to embrace her talent, not just use it out of necessity.

At least Saki still had her duties as a priestess, she must attend the ritual of her island. She had met her mother's illusion (or her mother's soul?) in deep sea, so I hope Saki start explores her mother's past and try to meet her mother again underwater. But it looks need an opportunity like an encounter with a friend's mother...(Aya's parents were busy and didn't have time to take care of her, so Aya's mother wasn't suitable) If Saori offered to tutor Saki in exchange for a duel, and after Saori losing the duel, Saki goes to Saori's home every night to tutoring......In my impression, Aya is not do well academically...

Saki might have expected English to come more easily to her in view of her half-American parentage, so more formal language teaching (grammar and such) may seem surprisingly difficult.

In fact I think it's due to the fact that she was cut off from the world on the island which meant that Saki had little education. Remember the elders separated the father and these children so there was no English in their home. Besides, Saki's brother should also have similar problems.
