Myrthe of Atoll being subject to a light punishment by the Atoll Principal Committee - for taking more than her share of the food rations. The summary court ruled she be sentenced to X minutes of deep water shackles, throughout which she needs to be fully conscious…

Rationing is fairly common in all levels and ranks of the Atoll due to scarcity of food resources. That means everyone can stay lean but things could quickly turn sour n a storm, war, or blockade when calories intakes drop substantially…

If you were the judge, how long should Myrthe's sentence be?

You say that she needs to be conscious but what is stopping her from drowning before her punishment time is over?

Getting/wasting more Food ration than needed is risking several other people life in a situation of life and death situation… food subject/ration is not to be joked with and having bad management will always lead to death of the whole colony/groupe. Let her reflect after 10min or 1 hour, if she drown, its gasha game to see if she is back >:3c

If the detainee fails to keep consciousness for the duration of the sentence, she will be excommunicated from the clan…thus she tries very hard to stay awake :-)

Deep enough :3 though if she keeps struggling too much, she might end up pulling that beam off the mound she's on and end up going deeper.

I can't understand why there is a shortage of food? The sea is a treasure trove of food.

Does this tribe really migrate? As did you not in one of your earlier post say that this tribe was located above. A storespace/workshop/factory, where they had lot of wetsuits vacuum sealed. Which gave this tribe an advantage in deep sea gathering. So why would they migrate from such a valuable spot

It would be when the clan is raided by a more warlike tribe which would want to enslave the deep divers and exploit the deep water resources. But after a while the invading clan would realize the site is too deep for them to utilize and move on :-)
