Back on page 32, when she started to pass out, Saki was still right next to the seabed. The last panel here clearly displays open water, meaning one of two things. She’s either not totally passed out and is now trying to get herself to the surface, or she is and is relying on her buoyancy to get herself back up. However, I think what she really needs is assistance right now. Since none of the other girls are in a shape to dive again, Tomo’s going to need to step up and save his sister, something he wasn’t capable of before. This still doesn’t address why Saki thought she could stay down here; she knows her limits and has better than average awareness of what things cost down here, so she’s going to need to explain her actions to her brother (and us) once they’re back home.

Saki saying thank you does it mean that part of this ritual was to breathe water after a spirit/deity appeared? But this event might make Saki as used to breathing water as Aya. Our very own water breathing mermaid
