A Busy Week Ahead (Patreon)

Hi everyone! I know there was absolutely no content last week, so I’m planning to make up for it this week. Besides this page that I’ve already posted, there will be three more comic pages: one from Twelve Qi and two Undercover fun comic.

I also want to finish a summer fan art of Judy this week. I want to get it done before the autumn cold sets in, haha.

My week off was also partly because I started taking some additional drawing classes. My mentor gave me a pretty serious scolding for making boring and repetitive drawings. (It was also really awkward showing him my NSFW arts haha.) So going forward, I’m going to pay much more attention to challenging angles and compositions.

He also taught me a lot of interesting things about visualizing scenes and how to communicate certain ideas visually, which I think will be really useful for my comics. I really want to make them as cinematic as possible because I definitely feel like that’s the direction I’m naturally drawn to.

I know that a lot of people prefer the more traditional American comic-book style of storytelling, but unfortunately, I just can’t help myself. At the same time, considering how inexperienced I am, sticking to simple horizontal panels helps me avoid spending too much time figuring out how to arrange every panel in the most visually effective way, like they do in American comics.

Maybe tomorrow I’ll finish the second Twelve Qi page and start storyboarding the Undercover fun comic, because I’m not completely happy with the previous storyboard and how the story flows.

Anyway, buckle up, because there’s going to be a lot happening this week! So far I’m feeling really motivated, so I don’t think I’ll burn out like I did last time. But if I start feeling like it’s happening again, I’ll let you know.
