Hades Fanart! (Patreon)

Played so much Hades 2 that I had this image in my mind, so I had to draw it down. During the process, I got interested in Melinoë, the main character that I was playing as in the game. I discovered that she is a real character in Greek mythology! But oh boy...

From Wikipedia: "Melinoë is the daughter of Persephone and was fathered by Zeus, who tricked her via "wily plots" by taking the form of Hades, indicating that in the hymn Persephone is already married to Hades. This is paralleled with another Orphic myth, the birth of Zagreus, who was conceived when Zeus, disguised as a serpent, deceived and mated with Persephone."

Welp, at least in the game, Persephone's father was changed into a mortal man, so Melinoë and Zagreus are three-quarters god! Phew, don't go digging ancient lore, people...

Hope you enjoy the fan art! I'll be adding this piece to my poster collections at tabling events.
