Take My Boyfriend: Part Four (Patreon)

Here's the next instalment of Take My Boyfriend. It's the following morning, and Steven's just stayed the night in Hunter's bed while Hugh's slept on the sofa.
I woke before they did. I hadn’t pulled the blinds in the living room so the sun was streaming in. It was seven. I got up and started making coffee.
While I was at it the bedroom door opened and Hunter stepped out, still naked, looking sleepy. He stretched, and every muscle on his body flexed. “Hey bro,” he said. “Great, you’re making coffee already.” He walked to the bathroom, and took his morning piss without even closing the door this time.
He operated without a care in the world. No need for modesty, no need for shame. Nothing like me.
He paused by the kitchen counter on his way back past. “You did well with that one,” he said to me.
I tried to make sense of those words. Was he just thinking of himself, praising me for bringing him a good lay? Or did he mean it as my friend, was he actually happy for me find someone as good for me as Steven was? If that’s what he meant, he was either in denial or being deliberately cruel. Because surely he knew just as well as I did from all my past relationships that once they’d been with him I could never compete. Which meant that as soon as he’d taken his droit du seigneur my relationship would be as good as over — if not literally over that instant.
Either way he was right though, I had done well with Steven. So I responded to him with, “Yeah, I know.”
I handed him his coffee, and I followed him into the bedroom carrying Steven’s and mine. Steven was awake, and he shuffled himself up into sitting position when he saw me arrive with the mug in hand.
“Morning,” he said, shyly.
“Hey,” I replied, giving him his coffee. I wanted to kiss him, show him that everything was still fine as far as I was concerned, but I didn’t know if I could do that anymore. Was I still his boyfriend after last night?
“So last night was… unexpected,” Steven said, addressing the elephant in the room.
Neither Hunter or I said anything. Steven looked up at me, and then over at Hunter, who just shrugged. That’s when it seemed to dawn on him. “Or maybe it wasn’t,” he said. “Were you two planning this?”
“No!” I said emphatically. Then, “We didn’t plan it. But I did expect it.”
Steven looked to Hunter for an explanation. “It’s what usually happens,” Hunter told him.
“Usually?” Steven looked at both of us in turn, his expression demanding an explanation.
“It’s kind of a little game we have going,” Hunter told him. He looked at me. “You want to explain?”
“Uh…” For a moment I just kind of stammered and tensed up, unsure what I could possibly say that would even begin to explain the fucked up relationship I’d formed with my old university buddy. “I don’t know if I’d say a game, exactly,” I said finally. “But when I get a new boyfriend Hunter likes to… uh… seduce them.”
Hunter laughed. “Seduce them?” he repeated in a exaggeratedly florid voice to make fun of my choice of words. “I like to see how long it’ll take for Hewie’s boyfriends to pick my dick over his.”
Steven looked concerned, but not exactly shocked. “Um, that’s kind of fucked up,” he said. His brow furrowed as he processed the information, and he began to look annoyed at Hunter. Then he turned and looked annoyed at me. “Why didn’t you just tell me that’s what you wanted all along?”
“I wanted to know what you’d choose,” I replied, “regardless of what I wanted.”
“I felt guilty about it.” The words sounded angry. “You let me feel guilty about it instead of just telling me that you wanted me to do this all along.”
“I’m sorry,” I told him. “You’re right, I shouldn’t have done that.”
“And you,” he said to Hunter, “Am I just a prop in a game? Am I just the goal or the touchdown line or some other sports metaphor I don’t understand?”
“No way,” Hunter replied calmly. “Honestly, out of all Hewie’s boyfriends you’re the one I was most keen to fuck. Knew it as soon as I saw you.”
Steven blushed and looked away coyly, and I knew in that instant Hunter had managed to expertly disarm any ill feeling Steven might have. God, he made it so easy.
I could tell by the expression on his face that Steven was still annoyed at me though. I felt bad about it. Maybe I should have warned him in advance. Chances are though, it wasn’t going to make that much difference in the scheme of things.
“I should probably go,” I said.
“Okay,” Steven replied, emotionless.
I gave him a second to see if he’d say anything more, before I said to him, “Do you want a ride?”
Again emotionless, he just said, “No, I think I’ll stay here.”
