Here's where you can contribute your thoughts and opinions for The Ninja Warriors series for potential inclusion in the forthcoming podcast.A friendly reminder that where the feedback for the podcast is concerned, we love it - but keeping it brief is appreciated. We do want to include a breadth of opinions where appropriate, but no-one wants a discussion podcast that’s mostly reading out essays. Better to save yourself time and cut to the chase if you can.

Ninja Warriors is a series I played in reverse. Ninja Saviors was lenient enough about letting me learn the rules to carry those skills back into SNES Warriors, thus allowing me to appreciate the original in the context of what the series would become. That’s my deepest question really. Who were the players who clicked with SNES Ninja Warriors? I never heard it discussed in it’s day. While it is an incredible game, I needed to be in my 40’s and trained by (take a drink) Dark Souls to understand that sometimes you get the most out of a game by engaging with its stringent rules rather than having it cater to your desires. When I had that breakthrough with Saviors I joyfully ran through the game in one sitting and years later would do the same with the SNES game and its slightly alternate timings. But I am convinced that had I played it in the 90’s I would have remembered it as “that beat ‘em up where they got everything wrong,” because it is so uniquely different.
