I'd just like to say, - Woohoo! Champions of Europe! Well done England! 58 years and we finally did it again! - Ah never mind, we gave it a good shot but ultimately it was too little, too late. Never mind, roll on the World Cup! (Delete as appropriate).

Great podcast, on the Elden Ring DLC difficulty. I went through it leveling up the fragments starting at around level 125, and I was able to get through all of the DLC up to that point with a jack of trades character trying out the new weapons having fun. The final boss felt like bullshit. I was able to beat him with a mimic after at least 60 tries going through a ton of great runes and a respec. Beating him with a shield and spear which didn't feel fun or satisfying. It just felt overtuned in an unfun way, on the other hand, bring able to use torrent in the final phase and of the final boss is nice.

A list of your recommendations / currently played in the comments would be great. I often listen on long car drives and have forgotten the exact names by the time I get home.

Checking in from US - peppermint ice cream is very much a thing here but mainly towards the the of the year as it's marketed as a holiday confection.

Cane and Rinse

Yeah we also have minty ice creams. We were talking yoghurt though.

I was on the verge of refunding Shadow of the Erdtree minutes after I'd bought it, due to an acute case of PSBDLCICF (Previous Soulsborne Downloadable Content Inspired Cold Feet). Glad I pushed through, though. Totally rinsed the thing and felt the difficulty hit a nice sweet spot for my level 220+ character. Loved the new weapons (mostly used the Great Katana, Sword Lance, Dancing Blade of Ranah, often respeccing to try something new) and took most of the bosses in about 5-10 attempts with my mimic.

Mark Hoogland

By the way, really liked The First Omen as well. It's a pretty decent year for elevated horror I would say, with stuff like Immaculate, Late Night with the Devil, Abigail and, my favourite (yes, coming from a Nic Cage devotee) Longlegs.

Hello Leon and Jay, hope that everything is alright with both of you and your loved ones back in the UK. Just checking on you.
