Excellent! Also, I was just wondering if you know whether the forum might be back online soon? Please don't think I'm asking for any other reason that genuine curiosity, I know there was work to do and I know it's probably a massive pain in the ass to keep on top of, but I was just wondering 😃

It's a shame about the forum. I don't post there as often as I used to, but it's one of the few places where pretty much everyone is sound and there's none of the nasty bullshit that has somehow become synonymous with gaming. In the plus column, I do find writing feedback easier on there as the Patreon format doesn't lend itself well to longer posts. From the few forums I frequent it seems like the bot issue has been a problem for all of them lately. Not to sound like a miserable old man, but I wish we could move everything back at least 10 years

I watched Steamboy back when it first came out (In the US, I think in a theater) I thought it was disappointing. I don't recall why, though maybe it was the awful voice for the main character.

Pressed enter too soon! Hearing Jay rave about it makes me want to give it another try, and check out Leviathan too.

R.E. getting annoyed with the hypocrisy of carnivores who show some care toward animals (in response to Jay's story about pigeon chicks and saving bees): I'm also a lifelong vegetarian Leon, because I hate the idea of deliberately harming animals BUT I came to the realization that there's really no reason to believe that plants are sentient, other than our natural bias towards animals, being animals ourselves. With that in mind, I don't think we really can't take a moral high ground as vegetarians. and at the end of the day the only thing you can say is that everyone has to make their own mind up about what's acceptable. Turns out that whatever you choose, life is built on pain and suffering! Yay

Enjoyed the show as always, thanks! I did want to comment on something you spoke about but I listened to the show a couple of days ago now and have, rather predictably, forgotten what I was going to say.

Same here; I enjoyed Steamboy so little I got rid of my DVD I was so excited to buy back then, which was unusual for me. Now I'm curious to give it another chance.

I remembered what I was going to say now. No idea who, but someone set up and Cane and Rinse subreddit some time ago. Nobody ever really uses it, but just thought I'd share in case anyone wanted to make it a bit more lively in there! I get Patreon is good for show feedback and comments for upcoming shows, but I do miss stuff like having somewhere to share games completed or just talk more generally about games. Anyway, the link if anyone is interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/caneandrinse/s/rk5YjIQpq4

Wuchang reviewer here - no PC issues, I just didn't like the game :P I double checked with another Souls reviewer just to make sure I wasn't crazy, and it just felt punitive to the point of it feeling like they wanted to make a PS3 tech demo as opposed to a playable game that humans would enjoy. PS: I don't know how much wuchang will be talked about, but apparently for latter game fights, you are supposed to use the invisibility magic in order to actually heal instead of being obliterated while healing. Strangely, as a reviewer I have been monitoring some steam reviews(I don't recommend this) and seeing many many folks saying they're having tech issues. Talking to some reviewer friends, it seems to be rooted in UE5 not being optimized for PC - in my case, I guess I got some good advice when building my PC a couple of years ago!

I know some are wary of reddit, but generally, if you're small enough with a competent mod team, there's no real point for trolls to engage, and subreddits can be made private (think invite-only) if it comes down to it. I haven't been to the forum in quite some time (I wish I had free time), but it is an option
