As we close the book on Volume 14, what better time to reveal what we have in store for Volume 15?

We forgo the usual format for this monthly to discuss what games we'll be covering on the podcast over the next twelve months.*Looking forward to another year of new podcasts, and even more videogames to enthral and entertain us. Happy 2026!

*The full listing will appear on the website on the 17th Jan when we make the list available to the public.

Awesome! Now avoiding any replies till I've had time to listen to it...

Mark Hoogland

Best wishes for 2026 everyone! Always love starting the new year mentally preparing comments to submit for the next volume of episodes.

Quiet Paul

Happy 2026 all! What a lovely way to start the year then listening to CaR - and the upcoming podcast reveal episode too!

Quiet Paul

What a lineup! A good few I will be particularly looking forward to and will comment on if I remember. Also, after properly Caning and Rinsing the game picked for the final episode of the season, I did think “This would be a great game to hear CaR cover”. Side note though, similar to the other fella you mentioned, I think I’m going to have to start pestering for Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon (N64). I did put in the forum many years ago but I’m too patient for my own good. Do it!

Scott Lamond

If it doesn’t work let me know, I’ve never used a Google doc before!

Cormoran Strike

I thought the purpose of the show was discussion of chocolate and or biscuits.

Alex79

I realise this would be an effort to set up, but I wonder if there's any way Google Docs or something could be set up so people could leave feedback about the games in advance rather than having to wait for the Patreon post? I don't know, something like that? Might be more effort than it's worth of course.

Chris Hunter

Not listened yet but just to say I am PSYCHED. Always a highlight of the festive period. Tonight's diary - cleared.

Alex79

Jeepers!! We're only four games in and you've already mentioned covering three of my favourite games! What a great start.

Simon Nelson

Just listened! What an excellent list although Chris Worthington’s pick steals the show! I requested it a decade ago on the forum 🤩

Simon Nelson

Works perfectly! Also if you sort by metacritic look where Darren’s pick is. Crazy 😝

Steven Cookson

I'm interested to see how you handle Immortality, as I imagine most of the show will be a synopsis of sorts. I'm curious to hear when everyone discovered the trick.

Qinglong Wu

Sonic Adventure 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Super stoked to see it getting covered!

Ben

There are a good number of games here that I have either just played or revisited recently, and this may be the motivation I’ve been needing to check out the Tex Murphy games that have been sitting in my backlog for a long time. Haven’t played one since the first way way back when the game clearly was Bladerunner influenced.

Alex79

Sorry I really don't want to spam up the comments, but just finished listening and fuck me, what a brilliant lineup this year! Best year for a while in terms of games I love, games I've played and games I want to play. Top stuff.

James McCaul

Always my favourite episode of the year. So excited for all of 2026 episodes.

Danny Abbasi

I wanna play Aliens: Infestation ✋ Leon, let’s do it bud. Side project podcast! :P

S

I heard about this podcast from a guy who used to be a backup spokesperson for my state (Kentucky). Everything he said is true - this is the best video game podcast. Leon, Jay, and the entire team do a great job. Can’t wait for the next season, no matter if we’ll have to wait a bit longer for Super Mario 3D World (I think that’s how it’s spelled).

Veronica Jane

Why *is* every podcast a video thing as well now? The whole point of podcasts is that I don't have to look at them when I'm doing the dishes or walking to the train station or doing random encounters in JRPGs!

S

Oh, you laid out the plan for the series long ago! I believe “the spokesperson” just wanted an excuse to praise you all in his own shy way. He’s seems good despite being disconnected from Bluesky. I saw him eating a whole foot long from Subway and those are expensive these days, so he must have a new job or something.

KibbleDispensary

I like not knowing what anyone looks like. I’ve spent the last decade-plus with [probably very inaccurate] mental images for each panel member. At this point, if you showed video during pods, I would assume that it’s elaborate use of AI and that my takes on everyone are the real thing. Looking forward to 2026’s roster!

Simon Nelson

The tex Murphy games are so good! The built in universal hint system is excellent for when you’re stuck and have no idea if you missed a hard to find item or didn’t talk to a particular person. Removes the frustration from the genre without spoiling anything. Wonderful.

Simon Nelson

I think whoever is on the panel with you is very lucky especially if it’s their first time through.!

Mattia Malvezzi

Looking forward to another great year of podcasts! Had to pause and rewind to make sure Leon said "Balan Wonderworld", that will be a fun one I think

Ewan Beck

My face lit up when I heard "Maniac Mansion" knowing this meant you would be covering Day of The Tentacle, a game that's close to my heart. It was one of the first games I ever played, and one of the few that my mum played with me. Can't wait to hear the discussion!

Adam Forrester

The alter ego (1986) website also allows one complete playthrough of the game for free

Azzan

Few games with "Jay's Energy" this time. However, we pray to th almighty to get Jay on the episodes of Returnal and Day of the Tentacles 😂😂😂😂

Jobobonobo

Oh this volume looks especially promising! Beyond delighted that Mother 3 is finally getting the Cane and Rinse treatment which is what I had been hoping for since ye started the series last volume. That game is up there as one of my all time favourites and it is a travesty it never got a western release. Also, you are finally covering Dragon Quest after all these years which I am giddy with excitement about. I find these games so cozy and charming and are traditional JRPGs at their peak. So many entries in this series I adore that for me when it comes to the age old question "Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy?", It will always be DQ for me. Long overdue that this foundational series is getting covered. Lastly, the to Sonic entries are interesting as there are games in which I have nearly strong feelings for both so will be interested to hear what ye lot think. Also thanks for not doing LAD: Infinite Wealth just yet, need to find time to finish that off before its inevitable issue comes out. I reckon sometime this year should do it!

CoupdeGravy

So many games I want to play along with! I'm really chuffed with how many Japanese RPGs there are this year. By the way, is the Dragon Quest episode focusing exclusively on the 'original' version (as opposed to the new HD-2D one)?

Cane and Rinse

We'll mainly focus on the original, but probably with some discussion of the remake incorporated.

Azzan

It would be nice to get the same panel of GTA4 and GTA5 to do GTA3.

Branford Hubbard

Some great announcements for the year - hopefully I can get good news regarding a job so I can actually contribute again!

Danny Abbasi

Just found out James Mielke, who wrote one of my fave books i picked up this Christmas - The Anime Archives - was interviewed on Cane & Rinse! Nice work guys

scowsh

Best wishes Leon, Jay & the team! Sorry to miss out on Jay’s monthly anime chat but very happy to hear about some of the games you’re covering this year. Really looking forward to Schildmaid MX (the game that opened the shmup can o worms for me) plus Battle Garegga and Metal Slug too. Really enjoyed the monthly update episodes too, lots of good tv & movie recommendations I’ve enjoyed from this year. I always intend to comment but never get round to it, apart from this once 😅 Keep up the awesome work, it’s very much appreciated 🙌

Mythic Resonance

I'd do an Aliens Infestation episode in a heartbeat, these poor folks don't know what they're missing.
