Belatedly following on from issue 3 of the podcast(!) - in which we spoke to producer James Mielke about Child of Eden - we finally get around to taking a deep dive into that game's synaesthesiac predecessor, Rez. Starting with the game's initial release on Dreamcast and PS2 in 2001, Leon, Josh, Michiel and Tony chart each subsequent version right up to the recent, virtual reality-enabled Rez Infinite - which some of the panel have been lucky enough to experience. As usual of course we also share memories of Rez from members of the community, and Jay pops in to tell us about the evening he spent hanging out with creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi himself.

Great episode guys, insightful as ever. I only just played Rez with the PC release thinking I could wait and play it in VR. Unfortunately I haven't yet got the Vive I so crave, but the game itself was too much of a draw for me - the rationalisation that I couldn't appreciate the jump to VR unless I knew the original game worked for me. It was a decision I don't regret, the game is so completely up my alley, having first fallen in love with Audiosurf so many years ago. I really really love this game, and its great to hear it given the respect it deserves. The personal connection to Mizuguchi was great to hear about, another reason I love the podcast. Keep it up!
