In the second of at least fifteen podcasts on the series, Leon, Josh, Leah, and drop-in fourth party member Jon Salmon take Final Fantasy's difficult sophomore outing to task. Assisted by buffs from the community, the assembled consider the artistic merits and mechanical demerits brought to the party by Square during the rapid development of Final Fantasy II.

Another great podcast. Not a game I’ve played but love listening to the guys discuss it. 😃

My “hot” take is that this is the best of the original 3. Of course it must be said that I first played it on PSP and then on the Pixel Remaster. I like the simplicity of one and frankly just didn’t gel with 3, where 2 hits that FF sweet spot in terms of its plot. You can really see a lot of seeds that would later flower into beautiful gameplay/story concepts later in the series. 2 maybe an oddball and there’s no debating that but it is absolutely charming in its own ways.
