For the first time ever - as we continue our run through the mainline Resident Evil games - we give a game a second Cane and Rinse podcast treatment. 13 years on from its release and seven years since we last reviewed, it, Capcom's hugely well reviewed Resident Evil 4 comes under the microscope once again. Leon, Karl, Leah and Sean are your panel this time around as we pick up some of the elements that we missed in our first show, including the critical adaptive difficulty working behind the scenes. Of course the current Cane and Rinse community also gets its say on this mostly adored - but certainly not by everyone - action horror.Music used in this issue:1. Serenity by Misao Senbongi/Shusaku Uchiyama2. Krauser by Misao Senbongi/Shusaku Uchiyama

Can't express enough how much I love your shows C&R team. Every night without fail I go to bed with an earbud in, getting about fifteen minutes further into each episode before I drift off. Haven't suffered insomnia for one night for the two years since I found your show. It really is a great way for me to unwind, and I love every presenter's personality which shines through in each episode. The shows are getting better and better. This resident evil 4 episode is absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much for what you all do, creating the best podcast gaming show on the internet, hands down, no competition.

man the mystery is solved! I originally finished this on Wii and got the xbox one version excited about going back in and I could not handle it in any way after finishing for the first time on the wii. You guys have inspired me to get my hand son some green herbs and revisit the most enjoyable rendition. Once again amazing podcast that really bought me back to playing through it. :)

I just finished this game last night after hearing about its greatness for years and years (I think the first time was when it came out and they reviewed it on X-Play). Anyway, it is a wonderful game. I played the PS4 version and didn’t notice the awkwardness that 60 FPS is supposed to bring to it. Very curious to play it on pc at some point and play it at 30. Thanks C & R team!

Resident Evil 4 was one of those games that I convinced myself i wouldn’t buy on release after I tried and failed the lat 2 outings with the series. The hype, however, was too strong to ignore and I bought in. I was greeted to a village that wasn’t happy to see me and to me my surprise, I survived! So I continued on the path beating the lake monster and El Gigantor. Heck I even beat the 2 tiered house with the enemies swarming me. I loved this game! But then Ashley happened. She was my brick wall. As soon as I got here I was greeted to game over after game over as the enemies kept grabbing her. I tried restarting the game thinking maybe if I had my resources then I could overcome the Ashley problem, but to no avail. It seems for me the GameCube series of Resident Evil games were just a bit too much in the difficulty department and really made me wonder if I was still a fan or not, considering I only was able to beat 1-3. Code Veronica, REmake, 0, and 4 are still games that to this day I haven’t beaten despite purchasing their rereleases. And last year I did it again, I bought the PS5 version of RE4. I haven’t dipped in again yet but I can say I have my reservations about Ashley, I’m hoping the reviews I’ve read are correct that she’s not as much of a difficulty curve. I would recommend the game but I would highlight the last half where I suddenly became an escort mission with someone who feels like they actively want to be kidnapped.
