Following up previous podcasts on Heavenly Sword, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and DmC Devil May Cry, the Cane and Rinse team turns its attentions to Ninja Theory's most recent offering to the gaming gods - Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Leon, Leah, Jon and Tony share whether or not Tameem Antoniades' tale of suffering and psychosis spoke to them metaphorically as well as literally. We also hear from the Cane and Rinse community, which provides some particularly powerful insight into the subject matter and the game's capacity to move and teach.Music used in this podcast:1. Wow I think this episode contains probably the most powerful piece of Listener correspondence I have ever heard really want to say thanks to that person for sharing his story. My mental Health expereince is mainly depression and anxiety and for some reason I havent played this yet but this podcast has put it on my list . Thanks to the panel as well the discussion on this was so on point and its interesting hearing perspectives on games that come with this kind of subject matter. Salutes!

I've no experience of mental health issues myself but the feedback on this was powerful and did touch me. I've been playing through the game slowly and its frightening to imagine this is an insight into some peoples lives even if an artistic representation. I did hear some people discuss the game on launch and how it makes a "joke" of mental health but i disagree. It feels almost alien to me and very unnerving especially with headphones adding to a paranoia and atmosphere

I’ve been a big Ninja Theory fan since Heavenly Sword. I picked up Enslaved and DmC (which unlike just about everyone else was my favorite in the series). I was super excited to see what they were cooking up next when they announced this game. I started this game up and if my memory serves correctly I think I got stuck on the first puzzle. It’s been so long that I don’t really remember well but I think they game was wanting to find something but I didn’t seem to understand what I was looking for or even what it was supposed to look like. The game looks gorgeous and the topics at hand seem to tell a wonderful story, it just a shame a Neanderthal like myself got stuck at the first puzzle. Maybe Leah was right when saying it’s a shame you can’t just shut off the puzzles. Great episode as always C and R gang! Thanks to you guys I feel like I have an idea of the game where I might never have. One of these i should go back and try again.
