Nier Automata is a game where you should know nothing or hear a detailed spoiler review before playing. Unfortunately I ALMOST knew nothing, but I had heard that there was a significant choice at the very end. I think I was too focused on guessing what the choice would be and rushing to the end to realize what the game was trying to say. While I left feeling unsatisfied with the game’s end, I have a much greater appreciation for it after listening to the podcast. One of your best yet!

Absolutely fantastic episode. Every section. I did not destroy Pascal, by that point in the game I felt like I had to preserve as much life as I could, that we all had to survive to have the opportunity to change our programming. Subsequently meeting Pascal again in the village broke me, I stopped and I sobbed. Because of the tragedy and heartbreak, but also because I purchased those parts. It was, to me, the most emotional moment in a video game I've played.

Loved this one, it gave alot of depth to the game for me since i kind of felt that there were messages that the game was trying to talk about but some of them went straight over my head. It was also interesting to hear everyone's different perspectives about said messages and the game as a whole.

I really like NieR:Automata. I was a big fan of the original NieR one the PS3 and was stunned when they announced this game. I just couldn’t believe such a niche game got a sequel. Of course I preordered a copy. The gameplay was so much better than the OG. I like the characters about the same as the first, which is a compliment because that game had very strong characters. And I really enjoyed the plot. Having said that not all the plot landed how I would have wanted because I played the first game. I already knew humanity was long gone going into the game so the plot reveal didn’t really work, otherwise it was executed almost perfectly. I would recommend this game if you can get past some not great graphics, not that they are bad just not stellar. If nothing else you should play it because outside of the original NieR there isn’t much that plays like this and there’s even less that tell a story like it.
