We conclude the PlayStation one era Final Fantasy triptych with our Final Fantasy IX podcast. Leon, Leah, Josh and guest, FF9 fan Chris Lane appraise what is known to be one of the development team's favourite games in the long running series. As usual we also share some memories and opinions from the community, as well as a cohort of Three Word Reviews from the modern day Mognet.Music used in this issue:1. Title Theme by Nobuo Uematsu2. Of the PlayStation Final Fantasy games in my humble opinion Final Fantasy IX is the best. It definitely has the least amount of caveats for me to suggest. I love characters, the art style, the music, the gameplay, and the setting. Though the plot is a bit convoluted and the the uneven amount of thine spent on some characters (Freya) can break the balance a bit, those are the few flaws I find in this game. In particular to highlight some positives the story is amazing, the world feels the most cohesive and lived in thus far in the series because of the diversity of life, and I love the Active Time Event system which allows you to see what other characters are up to, it’s brilliant. If you like old school RPGs then I definitely recommend this game to you, even for first game in the series, it’s seriously that good.

Sorry to hear this, folks. Suggest deleting and resubscribing to the RSS. Fingers crossed.

Have done so but no change unfortunately. I'll inform the developer of Podcast Addict (he's normally very responsive) and see if an update can be made. I'll listen on Patreon instead this week then! Thanks all

Apologies for the inconvenience - we’re also looking into it.

A wonderful episode for a wonderful game. Loved listening to you talk about my favourite Final Fantasy. Thank you. 😃

The developer has said the following - he thinks it's a Patreon RSS issue - https://imgur.com/a/ZCx6G5H I've tried the RSS feed you sent me when I signed up to Patreon when I signed up and it's come up with the same issue - if possible can you send me a new unique feed by DM at all if that's what your investigation concludes as well? Thanks for all your efforts

Okay, we re-uploaded the file, see if there's any change

It now works for me, thanks team!

Gotta say, I had no plans to replay FF9 (I almost beat it when it first came out and I was 13-ish), but hearing everyone's thoughts and love of the game changed my mind. Think I'll pick it up for the Switch at some point!

Loved the episode. Final Fantasy 9 was my 4th foray into the series ( 7, 8, back to 6, then 9) and is my absolute favourite. The world, the charm, the narrative, the randomness of Necron which I thought was great. Just a really enjoyable game. Haven’t been back to it in nearly 5 years. Perhaps it’s time to!
