Having sunken into a drunken stupor since the previous Tango Gameworks title, the lure of jacking back into the STEM for The Evil Within 2 is enough to rouse us from our squalor. I picked up the first Evil Within shortly after I got my PS4 besides PT it was my first horror game on the system. I loved the opening bit but bounced off of it hard right after the hallway part. My memory says that I thought the game was too hard but I can’t 100% recall. When the second one came out I told myself I wouldn’t pick it up. I did but it was much later on a deep discount. To my surprise this game starts with super powers if you so wish, and I absolutely did. I turned on the one hit kills and got started. I loved the game! I thought the art direction was impeccable. The characters are fun and even though I had the game on super easy mode, thanks again to the one hit kills, I found the game to be very scary. My only nit pick is that I liked Stefano more than I liked Father Theodore, maybe they should have began with the cult then went to Stefano? All in all though I would absolutely recommend this game, especially as it’s often on deep discount sales.
