Hi, When you talk of damning the human race in Last of us, do you not feel the game has shown you this version of humanity isn't worth saving? You meet no character who is helpful to you. Even Tommy lives in a camp fending off attacks from bandits (not the plague victims). Im honestly interested why you want to save humanity at the cost of losing someone you love. (I only just discovered your pod thought TCGS, hence the very delayed and, slightly off topic, question)

Hi Robert, well that was recorded a long time ago and it's something you'd need to specifically address to the folks on the panel for that show. Your way of looking at it is certainly legitimate, but what about the fact that you are also disregarding Ellie's own wishes? How much do you really love someone if you put your own feelings before theirs?

Great episode, and there is an interesting discussion to be had about genre mash-ups. I'm currently playing Horizon: Zero Dawn; a game which most people would describe as an action adventure rather than an RPG. As I was playing, however, I started thinking, 'this IS an RPG'. We have a large open world, a quest log including main and side quests as well as a host of other activities. Crafting, upgrades, modifications, looting, a skill tree and experience points - Alloy even has selectable dialogue. How is this any different to something like The Witcher 3? Mechanically, they're almost identical.

Good points. Ellie is only 14. And maybe one never puts someone else's feelings ahead of their own. That is a big ask of any normal human being. Thanks for the amazing shows too :)

Great podcast, nice mix of views and well made points. Wish people would stop calling games like this 'Oscar bait' though, bit of a lazy phrase that gets on my nerves.

Another super episode. Great listen.

Amazing episode. Wish the game was as good. I found it completely insufferable and couldn't make it more than a few hours in. Shame as I loved the first 3 to death and the psp games.

Tremendous pod. No other podcast takes such a balanced, mature and comprehensive look at a game. Stellar work, folks!
