It's been fully four decades since Dave Theurer turned his apocalyptic nightmares into an arcade game. Missile Command told a darker story than most games of the time, and thanks to its compelling, though unwinnable, gameplay, has stood the test of time as a high score competition stalwart. Leon, Jesse, Michiel, guest Dan Clark and Cane and Rinse community members recall their own fears of Armageddon and their ill-fated mission to keep the incoming nukes at bay.Cane and Rinse 425 was edited by Jay Taylor

Listening to this episodes brief mention of the Missile Command movie makes me wonder whether there would be any appetite for a monthly/quarterly community video game movie "watch a long" where we all start watching at the same time and then a book club style round table for an hour afterwards? Obviously there's plenty of trite out there so a stiff drink or several maybe required for some of Uwe Boll's best/worst outputs, but it could be fun if there's any demand from the Patreon audience at all?

I wish developers these days would keep politics out of video games 😂

I was really glad that Leon brought up his experience with the trackballs in arcade machines always pinching the skin of his fingers when he was younger. Same thing happened to me for years, and I'm still nervous to play those games in the very, very rare occasions I actually find one in an arcade.
