There's much more to the story of the original Prince of Persia than the famous fact that creator Jordan Mechner rotoscoped his little brother into the game. Leon, Chris, Jesse, Karl and some brilliant forum contributions celebrate not only that eye-popping animation, but also the game's cinematic and storytelling flair, level design and atmosphere. The panel also looks at a few of the myriad versions and conversions, and considers the changes made for the downloadable 2007 'Classic' console update.Music featured in this issue taken from the DOS version and composed by Francis Mechner (music) and Tom Rettig (sounds).Cane and Rinse 437 was edited by Jay Taylor

I saw this episode and thought 'Oh no, another episode about a game I don't care about'. I don't know why I still have this thought because when I end up listening to the episodes that I have no special interest in I always end up enjoying them! This episode was no exception - excellent discussion that made my commute much more interesting. Thanks! P.S. I always love it when Chris is on, his talking style is like an unedited stream of consciousness that's always enjoyable to float along.

Haven’t played it yet but it was so interesting to hear how influential this game has been.
