Another month has passed and so here we are once again, waffling on about what we've been up to since the last one of these. It's mostly videogame related chatter with some chat about what we're planning for volume 10, which is kinda mad as it dawns on us that we'll have been doing this thing for a decade next year!Anyway, hope you find this mildly diverting at least and please leave us your feedback in the comments so we have something to read out next month!

Looking forward to volume 10! It would be great to hear your thoughts on a game from Red Candle Games (Detention, Devotion), especially given the political and institutional conversation surrounding Devotion getting pulled from sale. More importantly, these are both great games on the merits.

Thank you for filling us in on where the lost but not forgotten are Leon! I always really enjoyed Darren Forman's input but he never quite seemed 'Cane and Rinse', ha! Regarding my lesser inclination to listen to episodes about games which I'm not familiar with, I never regret listening to these episodes and certainly Prince of Persia was an excellent episode for the history and perspective it brought to the game and its impact on the medium. Sometimes there are episodes about games I haven't played that I enjoy less, simply because it's harder to have a perspective and be invested in conversation about a game you know nothing about! Obviously the conversation is starting from the perspective that everyone on the panel has finished the game, so it can be difficult I think as a listener to find an entry point into the conversation. Sometimes I don't even come to an understanding of what the game's mechanics are! Way back you used to explain the game's story but that stopped as I suspect ultimately it detracted from more important discussion. All that being said, I love the show and wouldn't change a thing. I just need to get better at listening and play more games! P.S. The first pronunciation of my name was correct, rhymes with driven P.P.S. Sorry this is so long...I have a very quiet schedule at work today :-)

Thanks Luke. All fair comments indeed - we do try these days to give a basic precis/outline of the game type and so on to hopefully give listeners a basic idea ofwhat we're waffling on about.

I love you all. This volume has been stellar and I am looking forward to next year! Assuming we are still here and the apocalypse hasn’t happened of course.

Just wanted to say how much I’ve enjoyed the sound of play episodes over the last few months that have focused on relaxing music. They’ve helped me feel relaxed whenever I’ve listened to them and they are much appreciated.

It was interesting hearing the discussion on swearing in the podcast. I honestly didn't notice until I heard a bleep for the first time. While I think swearing can add impact when used correctly; gaming media is full of too many screaming, fauxrage, AVGN wannabes that it's actually refreshing to hear analysis that doesn't aim for shock value. If you actually have something interesting to say and can put it across in an engaging way, you don't need strong language. I think this is something Cane and Rinse does brilliantly, so keep up the good work. In a similar vein, and for anyone who wants to clean up their YouTube recommendations, I recently discovered Tim Rogers, who makes a point of not swearing in his videos, yet produces some of the most creative gaming critiques out there.
