Happy Christmas and new year to all the Cane & Rinse crew!

Will Marley

Merry Christmas to all the team and best wishes for Volume Ten!

KalmPyro

I foolishly thought my RSS feed was just broken for a year now. I didn’t know the I had to give a bit more to get the newest podcasts. I will be upgrading tiers for sure now!

Scott Lamond

Huge thanks to the whole Cane & Rinse team for another great year of episodes. Aside from the games I’d already played the 2020 schedule made me bump up the priority of a few games on my backlog up so I could listen to the discussion :- Red Dead 2, God Of War, Spider-Man, Beat Saber, Detroit : Become Human And more importantly the list led me to check out games that I otherwise might not have touched :- Florence, Gardens Between, Bury Me My Love, Oxenfree, A Boy And His Hug Button, I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream, Wandersong Looking forward to playing along with the great selection for 2021 and might even manage to organise myself in time to contribute to the forum posts for once! Thanks again for everything in 2020, see you in the New Year!

Miri Starling

Looking forward to hearing your 2021 podcasts. Happy New Year to you all and thanks for the company on grey lockdown walks from a new listener.

James McCaul

Great list. 2 of them especially are among my all time favourites. Going to try and play along where possible. 😃

Scott Buros

Very cool list. Can someone please type out the name of Leah’s game? Sounded like Leon said Coolex to me.

Scott Buros

Oh yeah. I can see why that was hard. Good try brother.

BlueWeaselBreath

I was so excited for this reveal. Just like Christmas! A great, diverse spread—something for every type of gamer, I reckon.

Jon Cheetham

One of my favourite games of all time is on the list, plus some other stone cold bangers. Can't wait! Also enjoyed the rice cooker chat. In fact, our rice cooker basically saved our Christmas when the gas stove in the flat we are currently staying in crapped out days prior. You can use rice cookers for all sorts of stuff, including various veg and the risotto I made for Christmas lunch. I'd never be without one.

Ben McSkelly

Has Jay considered a slow cooker /rice cooker hybrid. As another half Asian household we've found an instant pot to work great for rice

alastair macgregor

What a fantastic list, some of my all time favourites are on this list. Thanks for all your hard work this year. Hope you enjoy a wee break and have a happy new year when it comes

Chris Logsdon

Very excited for the new lineup. I’ve waited years for a Dead Rising show. Color me ecstatic. Happy New Year and keep doing what you do so very well.

Cane and Rinse

[Jay] Yeah, the one we've been using is a hybrid but we never use it for anything other than rice and we figured this time we'd go for a dedicated one, also the ones we've been looking at have a lot more options for different types of rice and how it cooks it.

Steven Cookson

Thanks for the clarification on spelling, as after looking it up it sparked something in my memory. The cover, especially the font, are so familiar to me for some reason. I'm not sure if I played this game, or a demo, or someone I knew owned it; but it's definitely something I've come across before. I'm looking forward to this episode to see if it helps dig up some lost memories.

Calling FF7R a "complete game" seems rather like saying that The Fellowship of the Ring is a complete movie, it's true, but you're definitely missing something. Regardless, a great lineup, and I'm looking forward to it.

Cane and Rinse

[Leon] As I say, I was sceptical myself but absolutely everyone else on the team who has completed the game was adamant that FF7R in isolation would make a podcast worthy show.

James McCaul

I’d love a proper spolier chat about the Mandalorian.

Steven Cookson

Fellowship of the Ring is a complete film though, so this analogy doesn't work at all. It's one part of an overall story, but it is a complete work on its own. FF7R took me more than 50 hours to finish, more than it took me to finish the original game the first time I played it. That feels pretty complete to me. I really hope any talk of an "unfinished" game doesn't take up much, if any, discussion time as it's a reductionist view that glosses over what an incredible achievement FF7R is.

I've loving the line up for volume 10, a few classics I loved as a kid or know of but were before my time and so never tried for myself (really looking forward to the text adventure, sorry jay!). I might have to re-buy Dead Rising and play through it again... not looking forward to dealing with that horrendously tiny text though!

Ewan Beck

In response to that opening conversation- I haven't actually made much use of my exclusive content aside from the console specials, I subscribed to support the show and usually listen to the reg episodes on spotify.
