I was really enjoying this podcast until once again the SJW wing of cane and rinse reared its ugly social justice head how can you blame an innocent disembodied head like KRANG for climate change? What about all the jobs KRANG offers to those in dimension X EVEN IF KRANG STOPS POLLUTING WHAT ABOUT INDIA OR CHINA HUH HUH?

This is already one of my favourite editions. Almost three hours of talk about two of my favourite childhood games, what's not to like? It's always great to hear from One Credit Ben, as his insights and personal experiences with arcade classics is always a joy to listen to. After seeing his Turtles run and his tips video I was hoping he would appear, and this didn't disappoint. Fantastic work as ever.

Excellent show chaps. In another strange case of Cane and Rinse synchronicity, I received an issue of Retro Gamer shortly after listening to this episode that was all about the Simpsons' arcade game. Now, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but following this experience I have made a tin foil hat.

Really enjoyed this issue, strong nostalgia blast for me absolutely loving these games as a kid. I remember my brother and I would get our pocket money each week and head straight for the newsagents down the road where they had an arcade cab. Played so many great games over the years there, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat and, erm... Pitfighter (haha). But it was when Turtles came to down we found ourselves spending our entire weekly allowance in one go on more than one occasion.

One Credit Classics

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I plan to livestream The Simpsons at some point, and maybe try and get a clear with all the different characters. It was a blast to be on this podcast, and I'm glad that you all enjoyed it.

Fantastic episode guys. I could almost smell the mingling of chlorine and chip fat as it took me back to playing this as a 6 year old in the local swimming pool’s cafe. I really enjoyed the show format of two games from different series linked by their DNA and position in culture. Would be interested to hear more like it in the future. Keep up the excellent work guys.

I never played these but really enjoyed hearing about them.

Hello, I am a LTLFTC. I've recommended your podcast to anyone who'd listen to me for years but only recently put my money where my mouth is and started contributing via Patreon. Apologies for this. I feel obliged to write in and comment how much I enjoy your podcasts. Particularly when it comes to titles that evoke such nostalgic memories for me. Many of my own memories of arcades involve village galas and camping holiday entertainment rooms. Our pocket money being limited, we had to be frugal with the machines we chose and often involved picking the 10p per credit machines or simply watching the demo loops. When others were honing their Street Fighter 2 skills you would often find my younger brother and me at the back, sinking what we had into available machines such as Gryzor, Operation Wolf, Super Sprint and Robocop. I remember watching the crowds round the TMNT machine in awe. The incredible cartoon-like graphics AND 4-player?? I can't specifically recall playing the game myself. It was perhaps 20 or 50p a go and therefore out of my budget but I know I loved the look of it. It sounds like a cliche but listening in on your discussions takes me back to such a fond time, full of joy and discovery and I thank you for that.

Cane and Rinse

Hey Rod, thanks so much for the kind words and we're glad you enjoy what we've been doing and there's absolutely no need to apologise for signing up to Patreon now, we're just grateful for the support regardless. Still, now that you've signed up there's plenty more for you to check out such as all the past extended and monthly podcasts - enjoy!
