Psychonauts Rhombus of Ruin is kind of a point-and-click VR game. I really enjoyed it. More so than Psychonauts 2

Lay off the snobbery about Child’s Play Jay! Some of us enjoy those movies...

STOP TALKING ABOUT KICKING A HORSE TO DEATH YOU ABSOLUTE MANIACS! 😂😂

Alex79

Won't somebody please think of the foals!!

The Pensky File

i mean, if you guys aren't even going to try to kick that motherfucker to death then im not sure what im doing here. tis better to have kicked in vain than to never to have kicked at all. i would stay and watch the movie tho, agreed.

Great episode, allbeit a little abstract! I love waiting for these patreon exclusives, they help me to work and back :) I have a question for next month's. Being an audio professional, one thing that I've always been keen to know is more details about your recording set up. What microphones are you using? Any acoustic treatment? Also, do you capture each panel members voice as a seperate audio file so you can mix them later? Cheers for the excellent sounding and we'll recorded voices 🤘

The Child’s Play flicks (most of them, anyway) are better than any Marvel CGI blobs throwing each other around and everybody pretends that those movies are good. Love you both, but Chucky is king! Keep up the good work, and watch more killer doll movies.

The Mario film cast list is a perfect representation that animation studios have given up on any notion of originally or confidence in their art being any sort of a draw. I referred to it to my friends as Hollywood Comedy Cast: The Movie. If Chris the Pratt is just going to do his own voice then I can't see it working, and if he's doing an accent then why not just get anyone to do it? Once again, it's a spit in the face of talented voice actors who have spent years perfecting their work and never get the opportunity to have the big pay days. It's fucking Mario! It's the most famous game franchise ever! If you haven't got the convictions to let it be successful on its own merit without the stink of Hollywood on it then don't bother. Especially when Wreck-It Ralph exists and is basically the same thing anyway.

Not sure I can pretend that bad s are actually good. Maybe it's just personal taste :) I think Marvel movies are great!

Another great chat chaps. I have to get this little story out there because it still feels as awkward, funny and genuinely random as it felt at the time. I normally have a Podcast on if im going to do some shopping or walking, and in this case I was approaching the automated checkout at my local Lidl and had to remove my headphones to converse with the checkout attendant as they approved my alcohol. I returned the headphones to my ears only to hear you both analysing the finer points of kicking a horse to death, with me having zero context or understanding why. I clearly missed the question entirely. Imagine my embarrassment as I was exiting the supermarket. with every single one of the checkout attendents looking at me weirdly. It was then I realised why and noticed I was snort laughing rather loudly at the Equine Kung-Fu shenanigans. Very funny stuff, yet fascinating.

Finally got around to watching Sweet Home (think it was this one it was mentioned in) and while I enjoyed it despite the production values… that Imagine Dragons song can go right to hell. Whoever put together the music for that show did the worst job I think I’ve ever heard on a show with a decent budget.

Excellent chat as always, folks. I've been on somewhat of an Asimov discovery over the last year, and read the original Foundation trilogy, which I found very good, but not the easiest read. I then read The Complete Robot (generally considered the definitive Robot anthology as I understand). I cannot recommend it enough. Apart from the stories being incredibly thought out, they have aged fantastically well. I don't currently have AppleTV+ but the Foundation series is definitely a pull. The discussion about Irreversible brought to memory my first year at Uni. I lived in halls with a film studies student who had a mountain of DVDs I'd never heard of. One day he calls me into his room to show me a scene from a movie. It was a scene from Irreversible that involves a fire extinguisher. Watching that short scene solidified in my mind that I never need to see that film in its entirety. The graphic depiction in that scene, combined with the audio track, genuinely made me feel very nauseous. Yes, Irreversible definitely goes on to the list of films I do not need to see, along with "A Serbian Film" and "Salo" (read the synopsis of both and that alone was enough).
