Go on, type something...Said the app with its line of inoffensive font although the author's head was already swirling due to all this talk of breakfast cereal flavoured drinks, science fiction stories set in galaxies far, far away and videogames where sliders adjust the size of genitalia and pubic hair can be fluorescent orange if one should choose. That all they wanted to do right now was consume a vat of coffee and Haribo until the ensuing chest pains and hallucinations removed all traces of the aforementioned conversation.Anyway, revel in it and be entertained.

With regard to chewing ASMR: there’s absolutely a bunch of it on YouTube! As a clinical psychologist, I’ve used it as part of exposure/desensitization therapy with clients who have misophonia. When they’re ready, we sit down and put on videos of people chomping wetly on noodles and such. The client by that time has the tools to withstand the sound in steadily increasing doses. In case you’re wondering, this is only PART of the treatment—if you have misophonia, I don’t expect that watching videos of nasty chewing sounds is effective on its own!

One thing I liked in Phantom Liberty was how many little nods to scifi film, tv, and books popped up throughout and were occasionally used to create expectations that they would subvert in one way or another. I had just finished reading through the Akira manga after Jay had talked about it this past year, so a particular part of the Phantom Liberty story made me think of that quite a bit. Sadly, that section ended with the only part of the campaign I didn’t like, even with a mostly stealth build.

The first 30 minutes of this show seem to have been taliormade just for me: cereal chat, weird drinks and talking shit about The S*n. Hook it to my veins! After living in Spain for more than a year, and now Japan, one of the things I do miss are the "boring" cereals like Shredded Wheat. I've stumbled across a few places in Japan that sell Alpen and, while it's expensive, trying it after such a long time has convinced me it is the absolute king of cereal. I don't know what the dusty stuff they put on it is (and I don't want to know) but it brings the whole thing together. You can disagree, but you're wrong.

I would have never thought that Leon and Michiel had never met in person! Nice to hear this is happening. I also have my share of internet-only friendships and collaborations, some with much welcome in-person time at a yearly conference/meet-up (in pre-Covid times at least). Hopefully the Patreon will grow big enough to one day cover a potential yearly offsite for the Cane And Rinse crew!
