Cormoran Strike

Metroid prime 2 echoes is my favourite Metroid game. Possibly my favourite first person game ever. Maybe because it was my first time with an FPS and a Metroid game. I first played it in 2005 aged barely 12 after it ended up in Nintendo official magazines ‘recommended GameCube games’ section. It was so different to anything I’d played up to that point, which was mostly Pokemon and platformers . This incredible world was mine to explore, even if I got lost quite often. Samus was my guide to discovering an expanding gaming world. I love the dark/light world element, I love the different beams, I love the bosses, dark samus, the incredible music. I love everything about it. It’s a game I think that’s aged incredibly well also, as recent play throughs on Wii U have taught us. Let’s hope Nintendo makes this more accessible for the switch sooner rather than later.

Good to read this - I confess to being somewhat trepidatious regarding Echoes' moment in the sun after listening to the Prime podcast. The original seemed to be given surprisingly short shrift (in my humble opinion), and this sequel generally got a harder time at release, so... In any case, I don't generally go in for sending correspondence, so all I'll say is: 1) YES. The bosses are hard but so very good in all these games. Probably the best in any games ever, for my money. 2) Recommend Mike Wikan's Kiwi Talks interview for really thoughtful insights on the design of all the Prime games. Keep flying the flag, Cormoran Strike! = )
