When we scheduled this show, it had been over 18 years since the most recent release of a new F-Zero game. Then Nintendo threw us for a loop with the shadow-drop of the free-to-play battle royale F-Zero 99! Nevertheless, as planned, Leon, Karl and Michiel - along with contributions from Our Ryan and the wider community - come together to celebrate and analyse this long-dormant future racer franchise, featuring a detailed look at the Super Famicom/SNES, N64 and GameCube 'big console' trilogy, as well as reports of the GBA 'trilogy' of spin-offs/sequels. And a little word on that newest entry too.Music featured in this issue:1. Title screen (F-Zero X) by Taro Bando & Hajime Wakai2. Wings for My Way (F-Zero GX) by Hidenori ShojiEdit by Jay Taylor

Great episode. Really good overview of the series.

Lovely episode. It’s made me really wanna revisit GX. Played it so much at my mate’s back in the day. Laughed out loud when Michiel mentioned the Casino level haha, I still remember that. Also the one where there’s a bomb strapped to your craft, and the one where you have to escape a powerplant that’s about to blow. I do remember we did beat this game on hard but jesus it was HARD haha. Now I want a new one 😅

Hey everyone! For some reason, my podcast app is saying I’m ‘not authorized’ to play or download this episode. I use Overcast on iOS for reference. Anyone have experience with this issue?

I also use Overcast on iOS and have never had this happen to me for Cane and Rinse episodes, but it has happened to me a handful of times for other podcasts. I know the C&R team has addressed this before and I don’t think there’s actually a consensus on A.) what causes it or B.) how to resolve it. Mine usually seems to fix itself over time. My best advice is the usual methods of fixing software bugs: try turning Wi-Fi/VPN off and on, restart your phone, reinstall app, etc. Hope this helps!

Ran the gamut of fixes that Google turned up and no dice. I’ll listen via Patreon this time! Appreciate the response.

Although Ryan could not be on the panel, it was nice to have his input in the show, as a correspondent. I would be happy to have that again in the future!
