Share Secrets Naturally (Patreon)

Secrets are a feature from For Rent. They are normally only found via Snooping in someone's home, or by being Nosy and bothering them for a secret.

This mod adds Secrets as a potential "Thing you learn about another Sim", alongside Wealth, Career, Skills, and Traits, when using the "Get to Know" interaction. It also adds learning a secret as an outcome to the "Share Secret" gossip interaction, available to Sims who are already friendly enough to do that.

Secrets can only be learned from another Sim if you don't already known a secret. They will only be learned from Sims you are at least Friends with. There's a low chance of learning a secret in general, but it gets higher if you are Good Friends or BFFs. Nosy Sims also have a higher base chance of learning a Secret from someone. Note that the "Get to Know" interaction only has a 15% chance of producing a result at all, and then a 20% chance of learning a secret if you are able. So it won't happen every time, or too often.

When you learn a Secret via conversation, you'll get the usual "Playful" moodlet for learning a secret.

Once you learn a Secret, you won't naturally learn more. The secret can then be used for Blackmail or Confiding Trust with the other Sim, same as if you had learned it by snooping or being Nosy- but without the relationship loss you usually get from simply learning the secrets. Blackmail will, of course, result in relationship loss. Did you know it lowers Relationship Satisfaction too?

Pictured: Waffle, who does not have the Nosy trait, shares secrets with his boyfriend, Waffle (don't ask). He is then able to learn a secret, confront about secrets, and blackmail or confide about secrets, same as if he had snooped for them!

This mod is a companion to the following mods:

-Secret Limitations, which makes Secrets specific to certain traits instead of all being available for all Sims.

This mod overrides the tuning mixer_social_ShareSecret_targeted_Friendly_HighScore.
