Pictured: A Low-Level Sim's Cooking Menu. So neat and tidy!

Removes all food options from the fridge only (still available on stoves, and at restaurants/stalls/etc) except those with recolors/remodels by ApricotRush.

The purpose of this mod is to declutter the Pie Menu interactions and massive, bloated cooking menus, while only keeping foods that look pretty with these recolors (with a small handful of exceptions). I also wanted to make less generic food a bit more special, as you'll likely only get it from food stalls, restaurants, special dinner nights, etc. This will encourage me to use Restaurants and Food Delivery to get those foods! Plus, it hides all the non-prettified foods elsewhere.

This limits the menus to:

Breakfast- Omelet, Scrambled Eggs, French Toast, Pancakes, Eggs and Toast

Lunch- Garden Salad, BLT, Mac and Cheese, Grilled Cheese

Dinner- Protein Plate, Chili, Fish & Chips, Taco Casserole, Tilapia, Spaghetti, Vegetable Dumplings

Pizza- All

Quick Meals- Yogurt, Cereal, Peas, Applesauce, Animal Crackers, Cheese Crackers, Ham & Cheese Sandwich, PB&J Sandwich

Dessert- Cookies, Apple Pie

Misc (Some Also Included in above lists)- Ambrosia, Soda, Power Sip

All other foods are unavailable from refrigerator cooking menus. They can still be accessed from the Stove, Restaurants, Vending Machines, Zoomer's Food Delivery, etc. Additionally, you can use LittleMissSam's Cakes in Baking Menu to get the cakes back. I have not modified the Baking menu at all, as its options are not visible in any of the fridge pie menus and are all locked behind a second screen. Since the purpose of this mod is decluttering pie menus, I don't need to adjust Baking. Grand Meals, Microwaves, and Grills are also not modified.

A Just-In-case Disclaimer:

I left out a couple of the recolored foods- Pao De Queijo, Zaatar Manakeesh, Japchae, and Tteokguk. This is because they are foods that I, personally, am not familiar with. And yes, they're all cultural, non-american foods. I'm american and do not eat a huge variety of food, lol. I'm very happy we have a ton of food, but these menus are a bloated mess already, and since I don't eat these foods, I don't ever click of them to make them, and have thus left them out! It's a simple coincidence that the excluded foods just happen to all be non-american- there'd be a larger variety of cultural foods in this mod but the recolors simply don't cover any of the less-american foods I actually ever make my Sims cook.

Again, all foods are still available from other food sources including Restaurants, Vendor Stalls, Food Delivery, and cooking at home via the stove versions of the cooking interactions. Please don't misunderstand my intent here! It's my mod made to my personal (and literal) tastes, and I just don't eat these 4 foods that are part of this recolor set.

Like all my mods, I basically made this for me and am letting you use it. You are free to not use it if you don't like the way I've done it.

I am interested in making a mod where certain foods are only available in certain worlds... I think it'd be neat if cooking in Japan didn't give you options for Mexican food, and vice versa, for instance, instead only being available at restaurants or by special order. But for now, I chose to take the easy route on simplifying menus, as that idea is pretty complicated and I also think I'd get annoyed by it after a while.

This mod is probably incompatible with any Cooking Overhaul mods, as it edits major cooking interactions- Fridge_Cook, Fridge_Cook_RequiredIngredients, Fridge_GrabSnack, and Fridge_GrabSnack_PieMenu. If new foods come with a pack, this mod will make those foods not show up, guaranteed. I will update it for compatibility purposes but likely keep the new foods out of the menus unless they get recolors by ApricotRush, as that's the entire point of this mod.

For what it's worth: fakepikachu on nexusmods has nice-looking AI upscaled texture overrides for all food dishes, not just some.

Oh, I found that on modthesims and it was 2 years outdated! Well, I like these really flashy handmade ones anyway, and they inspired the idea to trim it down anyway. I may make a new version of this mod if I find other retextures I like that boils it down a bit more organically than "whatever this one person retextured" lol

I've been thinking about this mod and it reminded me of either the Realistic Cooking Mod or SrslySims' Cooking Overhaul, where they had meals categorized by region type - cook mexican food, cook italian food, cook japanese food, etc, but it only applied to their custom recipes. I'd like to see a similar mod that does this with the EA recipes, because while it's nice having the option to make so much cultural food, I personally might not know the difference between these different cultures, and if I'm playing say, a mexican-inspired family, I might only want them making mexican food, etc.

Ohhhh this is great! Especially appreciate your call out about finding a way to restrict type of food sims can make...I tried to run a small Mexican restaurant as small business and they kept cooking random food like omelets...
