Did you know? You can comment on Patreon posts if you have a Creator page, even if you aren't a patron. I just learned today non-patrons can't comment on anything.

What about an interaction in the Interior Design menu for "What are we going for?" that randomly selects a different notification to give, giving you a prompt for the renovation you're doing?

Since sims don't actually care, a prompt could make it feel more like you're being challenged to do something specific.

Prompts like:

"I hate this kitchen. I want something with PIZAZZ, like my friend Penny's apartment. It's gotta have at least 3 appliances besides the stove and fridge, and I want two sinks!"

"There's not enough room in here for activities, so whatever you do, don't put any furniture in the center of the room. We like to play Myshuno in here and I don't want to move anything."

"I just love horses so much. The more horses, the better. Did you know Horses can't throw up? It's true, I think. I will throw up if this room doesn't have enough, or has exactly enough, horses."

"I know i put down a budget in my ad, but I actually only want to spend a third of that. Apparently if you put down a higher budget you get more responses because you work on commission, or something? I don't know how it works but it sure got me a lot of responses!"

Obviously the game would not actually check if you *did* these things. They'd just be creative prompts for you to form your new build around.
