When Sims 4 launched, and up until the Get Famous patch, careers had what was called "Ideal Mood".

I don't exactly remember how it worked. But the gist of it was, if your sim WASN'T in the Ideal Mood for the career, they would have a very hard time making progress in their career. Performance simply wouldn't increase enough.

I really resent that this was removed and am brainstorming ways to bring it back. I have a few ideas, the most obvious of which is a system to check what job a sim has, decide what ideal mood that job should have (i.e. Energized for Athletes, Confident for Businessmen, Playful for Comedians, etc), and if the Sim DOES NOT have that mood while at work...their performance is multiplied by something like 25%, or maybe even less.

This concept encourages boosting your Sim's mood severely before work to make sure it sticks around the entire day. It encourages using mood aura objects, it encourages using mood-boosting interactions to keep your mood strong and keep it around longer. It makes moods really serve more purpose, and makes going to work require more prep time than simply filling motives. HOW will you fill your motives? What objects will you use? What interactions will you focus on? What does this specific sim need to have a good, long day where they stay in a specific mood?

To offset the time where your mood changes to Fine or something else, the performance while in an Ideal Mood would also go a little faster, since it's very unlikely you'd be in the ideal mood every single day.

I am also considering an Problematic Mood system, which would drain performance. Athletes who are Dazed, Businessmen who are Embarrassed, Comedians who are Angry.

This is just in the idea phase right now.
