I once had a dream of meeting a detective in a maze of underground tunnels. She had the head of a half-decomposed cat skull and the body of Columbo. She was hired by a group of people who established a township in the tunnels to investigate a missing persons case. Their religious leader found a way out of the tunnels but was, suspiciously, unable to find their way back to tell the rest of the town. It was "Detective Izzy's" job to find this leader and bring them back.

The people in town always wore blue accompanied with an empty golden locket around their necks. They always cried over the loss of their leader but couldn't recall what they looked like. I didn't really participate in the events, I just followed the detective around like her sidekick.

Anyway, there's a lot of "dream-logic" behind the concepts but I thought they were interesting enough to draw and share. Talking about dreams can be boring but sometimes I can't help it haha. Waking up from a good mystery can give me the energy to face the day.

Ooo! I really love the designs Dana :0

Love the detectives that have different methods and logic to solving crimes. And being an undead one certainly creates alternative logic for crime solving.

I find it so cool how you can draw things from your mind so vividly 😤👏

Psychtaku

I love this story idea so far! Has a psychological detective horror to it! Also live the half cat skull design!

passionpeachy

I love ideas from dreams and don’t find them boring at all! The half decomposed cat skull is awesome

I’m picturing a Chris Sarandon voice from one of them

Oortbox

Love the idea. There's so much to play with there

Dang, and the dreams I remember are just pitch black space with the colored outlines of shapes drifting about like a mid-2000s screensaver

Sounds like a pretty eerie setting to work with. You’ve got a detective wandering into a community that isn’t quite right/familiar and a mystery that will answer other questions about everything…

Adriana Luna

That was a whole movie you had as a dream. I love it. Is that a capybara on the bottom right?

Anthony Melnyk

You're like the Illenium of story writing: you always know how to bring out the feels.

God, I want so badly to see this story now. What’s going on with the town? What is “detective Izzy” like? Plus your art is just so expressive and compelling!
