Madam President VI is postponed until further notice.
Why?
While finalizing the comic for release today, my Windows OS initiated an automatic security update. The update installed in the background and then forced a system reboot.
After the reboot, I discovered that my user account had been removed. Booting into recovery mode confirmed the worst: all of my working files—including my rendering assets and the temporary project files for Madam President VI—were gone.
I initially assumed the data had been corrupted and could be recovered, but after attempting multiple recovery tools and methods, it’s become clear that the files were permanently erased. The SSD appears to have undergone something akin to a deep format.
As a result, years’ worth of saved work has been completely lost. I now have to start over from scratch, including recreating Madam President VI in its entirety.
Now what?
Your purchased content is safe. Anything you’ve already bought—or may buy in the future—is hosted in the cloud and completely unaffected. You won’t lose access to anything.
I need time to rebuild. Due to the data loss, I have to start from scratch. This means recreating scenes for all comics, commissions, and projects as if they’re being made for the first time.
Content will be slower for a while. There will be a temporary slowdown as I prioritize rebuilding, starting with redoing Madam President VI in its entirety. It won’t be ready tomorrow or the day after, but it will be finished.
I am not quitting. This is easily the worst technical failure I’ve ever dealt with, but I’m pushing forward regardless.
Commissions will be honored. Any original characters I previously created will be remade free of charge—I just need some time to do so.
Patreon refunds (if applicable). If you’re a Patron who recently joined expecting access to Madam President VI before the end of January, you’re welcome to request a refund. I’ll do my best to accommodate you.
Thank you for your patience. This has been an extremely difficult and soul-crushing experience, and I truly appreciate your understanding as I rebuild everything brick by brick.
One last note: If you’re using Windows… learn from my pain and consider switching to Linux.
