George Lucas famously created STAR WARS in America, but shot the film in London and the two largest concentrations of fans exist in the two countries. RFR V.I.P. Martin from London returns to the Q&A to discuss the thing we all share despite being separated by an ocean, THE WARS. We discuss the classic STAR WARS UK comic book releases from back in the day, STAR WARS on VR, Nick Frost, THE MANDALORIAN S3, lightsaber duels in the Disney era and more!

Awesome, a Tuesday night RFR Q&A fix. Life is good!

Gareth Williams

Tomorrow morning listening for drive to work sorted.

Great pod thanks Few things I was listening to it on the treadmill which made me smile when you said you listen to rfr on the same product. Thing two agree with Jimmy Mac re channel surfing / streaming and too much choice. Life was much simpler when we were young and had bbc1 bbc2 itv and channel 4… and perhaps later on channel 5 Everyone went to school and discussed the same tv event of the day. Too much choice can sometimes be a bad thing a bit like restaurant menus. Think id almost rather le relais de Venice l’entrecote than some super multi choice menu offering. Thing 3 Good luck supporting the pilgrims this year with Wayne Rooney in charge! Could be a long hard season! Regards a coventry city season ticket holder!!! Cheers

The Holiday Special in 5K whaaat?! I still use my VHS player in my classroom haha. Cheers!

That’s funny. I still have the bootleg VHS I bought in 1996ish? I watch it on YouTube every Thanksgiving.

Eric from Phoenix

Fun discussion guys. Mando and Book of Boba Fett totally felt like the old Marvel comics.

Very nice Q&A! I'm intrigued now by the Marvel UK Star Wars comics. Also, I've played the Vader Immortal game on the Meta Quest and it was an amusing diversion, but nothing on the level of Jedi: Survivor, which I am currently playing!

I'm a garbage collector and I'm listening RFR while I'm working behind the truck XD If VR headset manufacturers want to democratize the technology they will have to accept to lower the price and sell at a loss at least initially, most people won't spend thousands of euros/dollars for it. Sony can't even sell their PSVR2 and it "only" cost 500$.

Sergio Zalasar

Jimmy, did you skip Laserdisc between VHS and DVD?

Sergio Zalasar

Also prefer the Patterson Cut of Obi.

Sergio Zalasar

Right on, where were the acrobatics for the Acolyte Jedi? I cringed when I saw them having to climb the wall. Just Force jump already, ugh!!!

Great show! Love the talk about VR tech—might have to follow up on this line of conversation with JMac. Thanks Martin for a quality episode.

Seriously thinking about picking up that UK collection after hearing the discussion about it. I also found “Epic Collection Star Wars Legends The Original Marvel Years”. Volume one collects the 1977 series issues 1-23 and a handful of other issues so I might be grabbing that one first before the price goes any higher. Volumes 2 and up are cheaper so it makes me believe the first volume might be out of print but not sure.

And a shout out! Nice! Love those SW Weeklies. I’m slowly compiling a set…
