That's no moon...That's the RFR Early Bird! (What? Did you think it was a space station?)

We react to the news of the cancellation of THE ACOLYTE and speculate why it happened and what is ahead for STAR WARS streaming on Disney+. Next up for STAR WARS is SKELETON CREW. We have audio highlights of show star Jude Law discussing the upcoming show and look for hints hidden within his comments. We continue our ongoing support of the world’s largest STAR WARS memorabilia collection, RANCHO OBI-WAN, and check in with founder Steve Sansweet and museum president Anne Neumann, both dear friends of RFR. Plus, a full report from FanExpo Chicago and Blues Brothers Con: The Sequel as RFR with Baby Belushi took over both events last weekend and more!

Great show guys thanks so much! Jude Law is 51 years old…guess he’s part of the problem too lol

Just wanted to pipe in about Rancho Obi Wan. Thanks for giving it exposure. I went last January, met Steve and Ann, and had 2 hours to look over stuff that blew my mind. It's an absolute must for SW fans, and a Mecca for those into adult collectables. It would be a tragic shame if it wasn't supported, and it completely relies on contributions. If you haven't had a look, do consider it!

Disney seems to have scrubbed all images of Heddle's tweet from Google and YouTube, so if you can post it, it would be appreciated. No one will believe me if I can't show proof.

Matthew Dillingham

Listening to you boyos cover everything this week just twisted a knife in my heart for me… I think i’m about burnt out on Disney and Lucasfilm to be honest. Might be time to save $20 a month and drop one of the worst streaming services out there!

Todd Zissou

Y’all heading to Seattle? Lemme know. 👌🏼

Blake Weaver

Awesome show! Always great to hear the legends at Rancho Obi-wan. Lucasfilm needs a complete purge of the cancer that’s been allowed to work there. Rumors are Marvel has done it recently so Lucasfilm could do the same. Problem is I think Kevin Feige has more brain cells when it comes to leading than Kathleen. Makes it really hard to care anymore. But I AM excited for Skeleton Crew. Looks like genuine fun and could be putting some whimsy back into Star Wars.

I've only listened up to the Jude Law interview so far, but dang, glad to be back! Been several months for me. RFR is the best!

As a white male in his 50s, I was disappointed by the tweet you mentioned. Star Wars at its best touches on universal themes that resonate with everyone. I think that the efforts to increase representation and diversity in the people who make and appear in Star Wars does have the potential to bring in more fans and expand the pool of creatives who make quality Star Wars. But I believe the main focus needs to be on making the absolutely best stories possible, not on the demographics of fans. And everyone should continue to feel completely welcome, including people like me.

Jimmy’s comments about the Star Wars novels helped crystallize a few things for me. Novels in the EU could be wildly ambitious, with almost outrageous plot points at times. Novels during the Disney era feel constrained by the existing timeline and a deference to the creators of onscreen Star Wars to tell the biggest stories. Unfortunately I don’t see this changing.

Looks like a lot of fun and a lot of partying in Chicago last weekend. Childish behavior is the best! Bill Murray lives here in Charleston, SC. I had an encounter with him when I was at a Riverdogs baseball game here for a work event last summer. We had special sky box type seating. And I didn’t realize that Bill Murray was sitting directly behind me until he started pushing me against my back telling me to get up and yell at the team that he’s part owner of. His brother and handlers would not let anyone take pictures with him, but one of my coworkers snapped a photo of us without him knowing. I’ll post it in the latest RFR episode chat. I wanted to attend the ROW fundraiser event in Seattle when I first saw the announcement, but unfortunately that weekend is busy and conflicts with other plans and some work responsibilities. An actual trip to ROW would be more meaningful for me anyway. Always great to see Steve (and Anne) on the show though! I will always continue to support ROW with donations. They are in my top 4 nonprofit charities that I give to regularly. For some reason the video version of this cuts off about 6 minutes before the end of the show.

Blake Weaver

Agreed. I’m in my mid 30’s and it’s turned me and my friends of the same age against them. They don’t know the damage they are doing with such stupid statements.

Brill episode We giggled a lot on the motorway listening Peak giggles… Jason mentioning he thought he was having a heart attack! And Steve sansweet counting from 2018 to 2024 whilst his partner shouting 6 6 6 at him! Great episode still got 10 mins left. We try to predict who people’s yoda questionnaire answers will be… both a little disappointed in ourselves for not choosing obi wan!!! Thanks lads

Martin Lampen

Pesky Binders. Peak Blinders. Completely cracked me up. Great show.

Great discussion and fun listen! I was disappointed that Rancho wasn’t doing their fundraiser at the Ranch this year. We would probably do that trip to support Rancho and get to see the collection. I totally get doing the fundraiser somewhere where they can have more people. The math makes sense. Would love to see a RFR event at Rancho and maybe it could be a mini- fundraiser?

Brian Robinson

It was pretty hilarious Jason mentioned the much forgotten The Dukes of Hazzard spinoff this week. I had thought about the “Enos” show recently after buying the The Duke’s of Hazzard complete series.

Eric from Phoenix

I hadn’t thought about Enos for 40 years either. The crazy thing is the actor that played Enos played Bear Bryant (Alabama football coach) in Forest Gump. That blew my mind when I learned that.

Tanya S

I really enjoyed the photos from Fan Expo…looked like a lot of fun and shenanigans! Thanks for getting Steve and Anne in the Cantina this week. I will always support RoW…and RFR!! 🧡💙🤍

Kenny

A 50+ year old dude here too eh! I pay no attention to those comments. Care less. The acolyte just wasn't very good. Some good stuff in it, but overall not so good. I'm also a novel reader and agree with Jimmy. Most of the Disney novels aren't that great. Even the living force isn't that great to me. I don't mind spending time with the old Jedi counsel, but so far most of their tasks seem day to day...I dunno. All I know is rfr is #1 lol!

Eric from Phoenix

Sorry for the Cliff Claven moment but as soon as I heard Enos, I thought of the actor and the fact he was in Forest Gump. Lol

Peter Beisser

Jude Law seemed legitimately excited about "Skeleton Crew." So, I guess I am now, too.

Chris Sorrentino

“I lost a lot of brain cells with Baby Belushi in town” -Jimmy Mac Hahahaha

BustArtist

Sounds like they lost more brain cells than with a visit with Bor Gullet. But the Sansweet and Anneumann was great! Makes me want to go to Rancho Obiwan even more!

Sharon Sandoval

So nice to see the RFR crew and everyone at FanExpo !!
