STAR WARS videogames have been on the scene since Parker Brothers introduced "The Empire Strikes Back" for the Atari 2600 back in 1982. Since then, the technology of gaming has exploded and gamers today now enjoy unparalleled fully interactive in-universe experiences. RFR V.I.P. Scott St. Louis returns to the Q&A with his list of the his Top 5 Favorite Immersive STAR WARS Videogames. And, of course, Scott is a GALAXY'S EDGE superfan and he shares stories about his latest visit. Plus, updates on what's new for BARFF (Boston Area Rebel Force Fans) and more!

Can’t wait to listen. I had the Empire Strikes Back, Jedi Lightsaber and Jedi arcade games for the Atari 2600. They weren’t great but it’s all we had. I should say I still have them and my complete Atari system.

Rob Strecker

I've laughed every time so far in the 5 minutes I've been listening, when I heard BARFF. LOL I love it.

Fettmatic

Awesome episode. My top 5 are: Bounty Hunter, Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader, Super ESB, Battlefront II & Republic Commando.

Great listen Sitting there for 20 seconds “Jeremy Jeremy …. Finally got bulloch “ felt a little less than for a moment. For me battlefront 2 is just brill 2 player game my son v me no heroes allowed kamino map. I love being the heavy and I love that sort of doorway at the top of the stairs outdoors and just spray my heavy. I love being the clones my son the clankers. Cheers

Turtle Wars

Yes Jimmy, I have heard that one a few times, along with all the slow jokes. Of course, the answer is that I came out of my shell the day I was ejected from my maternal vessel and hit the ground running, immediately joining the rebellion for life. I like listening to the Q&As to hear about all of the different interests and backgrounds, all converging because of SW and RFR. Video games have never been part of my SW fandom. I’ve only ever played the original arcade game and the different SW pinball machines. But it is enjoyable to learn information about this and other areas of the fandom I don’t participate in. Thanks Scott!

My son chooses the heavy and I the sniper. My strategy worked for about 2 years until his prowess increased. Now my sniper dies in a millisecond of automatic blaster fire :-(

Bounty Hunter is one that I’d like to give another try. Never finished it, but was on PS2. Great choices!

Gareth Williams

Jimmy Mac: “Who played Boba Fett in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi?” ‘Big Star Wars Fan’: “Duh??” Rebel Force Radio Listener: “Well, there’s Jeremy Bulloch, and then you have John Morton, Jason Wingreen, Temuera Morrison, Dickey Beer, Don Bies, Glen Randall Jnr, Louis Friedman, Mark Austin, Nelson Hall, Bob Yerkes. And then of course there’s the animated Bobas…….”

Honored to have an open invite to be an unofficial BARF member for the night! Scott's turned out to be a really good pal in this community. Enjoyed the tales of Galaxy's Edge, the games, and the sneak peek into his own hero's journey. Great listen, gents!

Joe Dallas

Great show man! We are all going to play the Bounty Hunter game together and get all 20!

Todd Stewart

Another great Q&A. I really liked Atari 2600 ESB. X-Wing is my all time favorite. I just replayed that and TIE Fighter earlier this year.

Valentin

Jimmy you can try that for Jedi Survivor: https://mapgenie.io/star-wars-jedi-survivor. It's an interactive map that allows you to see all the collectibles and more on the map and to check them as you go along in the game. It even tell you what ability is required to get each chest, thay way you don't lose time trying to get a chest that you can't get yet.

Rebel Force Radio

Wow this is really cool. Thanks for sharing! I might not look at it because I prefer to play the game without guides, but its fun to look at.

Todd “Suds” Sedlacek

Another fine episode Mr. St Louis! Hearing about the Zooms with fellow VIPs got me to thinking - how about a periodic RFR VIP Roundtable podcast episode where 4 RFR VIPs (rotating cast) get together and discuss a SW topic (or topics)? Jimmy, what do you think?

Valentin

You can just use it to check on the map the things that you discover by yourself to at least know where you're at in your completion of the game. Personally, it's a little pleasure to see the card emptying as I progress through the game :D

Scott St. Louis! I went to west coast Galaxy’s Edge last month. Unfortunately, the blue milk is not spiked over here. Blue milk with a rum float sounds delicious. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Yep, I think it has something to do with Magic Kingdom? You can now by alcohol at restaurants outside of galaxies edge but you can’t buy it where you can walk around with it. CA is the opposite.

Great discussion guys! I had the same reaction to the velvet falernum. I had never heard of this before. My top five immersive Star Ears games in order of release: Star Wars Arcade (sit down version)- when that came out it was amazing. Felt like you were actually flying an x-wing. Dark Forces - Doom in Star Wars skin. Loved it! Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2 - we got the first live action Star Wars scenes since Ewok adventures, great story and you could be good or bad. Star Wars galaxies - you could visit all of the great locations from the movies and the Space add on pack was amazing. So much fun! Battlefront 2(2016)- release was shaking but turned into a great game that spanned all the movie time periods and locations.

Dale Morris

Fun episode! Looking back, the early arcade games, Atari, and SNES games don't fell as any more "immersive" to me than Yoda Stories or Star Wars Chess. Here's my chronological immersive list: Dark Forces Battlefront (and BFII) SW Battle Pod Battlefront 2015 (and BF2) Secrets of the Empire VR experience

Eric from Phoenix

We will be doing trip from Boston to Key West at some point and I expect a membership card. Get Dan working on that :)

Marty of Georgia

Great Q&A. It’s not a really immersive one, but we gotta throw in all the Lego games! I love me some Battlefront 2 (both the old and new one)
