The RFR Early Bird wanted you to have this week's AD-FREE RFR way before anyone else!

Archeologist David West Reynolds discovered the remote Tatooine shooting locations long after records were lost, taking him on his own "Hero's Journey" from Tunisia to Skywalker Ranch and working with George Lucas. David joins us In The Cantina to discuss his history with STAR WARS including his creation of the original lightsaber crystal concept, and his new Indiana Jones project "Chasing Raiders". And, of course, David brings his STAR WARS expertise to "The Yoda Questionnaire". Plus, writer Stephen Knight departs Daisy Ridley's "New Jedi Order" film and we react to comments from Jude Law about the upcoming streaming show SKELETON CREW.

Ahhh, that new RFR episode feeling - nothing better!

Jared Cantor

David West Reynolds is great! I backed his Kickstarter several years ago which created some awesome posters and a must own DVD about his search for the original shooting locations. I haven't watched that since it arrived but maybe I'll find some time to pop it back in because it really was a fantastic journey

Does anyone remember Luke zipping up his flight suit on Dabobah? That’s the only zipper I could think of in SW!

Rebel Force Radio

Not Dagobah, but right film. Luke was clearly seen zipping up his flight suit while talking to 2-1B just prior to the Battle of Hoth.

Who yells out “Star Wars number one “?

What a powerful interview. Just shows that storytelling while it’s all make believe actually can matter in peoples lives and move them to great things. Never give a pass to bad storytelling just cause it’s Star Wars. A top 5 interviews in RFR history for me this week. Also I really want a Kenobi season 2 now. I was against it but now I just want 8 episodes with a 500 million dollar budget of old Ben throwing hands with different Mos Eisley Cantina background characters.

Kyle Burress

Great interview and I still have that Insider issue from back in the day! I'll probably never do it, but it inspired me to want to go visit those locations. It's always great to be able to get different angles from the Star Wars world. I didn't realize he was from Indiana. For all I know he's one of my neighbors!

Curtis in Omaha

He was fantastic! Never heard of him before, or heard him talk, but I remember looking over the anatomy of a lightsaber or cross-sections of the Falcon and just soaking it all up. He was absolutely inspiring to listen to, and I loved how he articulated his initial impressions of midichlorians and Ep 8 Luke.

Ben P. Stein

Fantastic interview. And great questions, Jimmy and Jason! The two of you asked great questions about the midichlorians and the portrayal of Luke in TLJ and got illuminating answers! Also very interested to learn about Deborah Fine, who provided all the accurate historical references in Raiders. I looked up her name and sadly it appears she passed away in 2019.

Well ... what a fantastic episode of RFR! That was such an intriguing interview. Some really excellent points were made & I learned so much. Super effort guys! David Reynolds is 100% a guy I'd like to go for a pint with! The chat would be epic!!!! 🍻

Thanks Jimmy for the Grateful Dead recommendation Unbroken Chain is such a deep pull from the archives. What made you pick this track for David West to listen to?

Great ep with David West Reynolds (DWR)! He's one of the people (much like Kyle, Paul, FJ, Jason, JMac, etc.) who I LOVE to listen talk about The Wars and who, IMHO, "get" Star Wars. What DWR said on this ep should be required listening to all current/future writers/directors/actors who make anything SW for Disney... plus all the interviews, behind the scenes stuff, audio commentary, etc. done by GL should all required listening/watching for people who want to make SW for Disney. Anyways, getting off my soapbox now... (I think I see some kids playing on my lawn. Time to go yell at them!) PS - I like, many of you, backed DWR's 1st Kickstarter thing (Journey to Tatooine). I highly recommend backing his Chasing Raiders kickstarter project (which as of 11/7/24 @ 2 pm is still not on Kickstarter).

Eric from Phoenix

Great discussion with DWR. I would love to see Patty Jenkins do the Rogue Squadron movie. I think she has a good resume, she is a Star Wars fan and has the passion for the project based on her dad (pilot in Air Force).
