SKELETON CREW is the next STAR WARS live-action story heading our way and many fans are looking forward to it. But some fans, still feeling burnt by THE ACOLYTE, are hesitant. RFR V.I.P. Sean Wanty is one of those fans who is reluctant about the future of STAR WARS. So much so, he'd rather talk about Batman! Yes! It'll be great to hear from Sean again. It's been a hot minute since he checked in

Nikolas Kouzes

Can you share the picture of Jimmy Mac as Batman?

Sean W. from Warsaw

Great to be back in the Q&A with Jmac! Thanks again for listening to me vent for a bit. I meant to say I thought you had some good points to share on the Emperor's plan and all that. Something to think about. 👍

Kyle Burress

Great listen Sean! I liked the Batman side-talk. I just rewatched Batman Returns last Saturday for the first time in at least probably 15 years. Those first two Tim Burton ones were great. Lots of great Star Wars talk as well!

Brian Robinson

Great discussion, glad to have Sean back. Loved all the Batman talk. I just watched Robert Wuhl in the recent Saturday Night Live movie last weekend. It’s still in theaters.

Sean W. from Warsaw

Thanks Kyle! Oh yeah, the old Burton films still hold up so well. Been thinking about watching Returns again, myself. Kind of a weird "holiday movie." But what the heck! Lol

Peter Beisser

Sean's boss not having the cash for a MAX subscription (hit me up on LinkedIn)! Jimmy freaking that kid out in his Batman costume while wearing sneakers! These are the things that stick with me after taking down this episode. It went everywhere. And I loved it!

Luke

Great show Sean and Jimmy! Penguin is a must watch. Looking forward to Sean’s feedback on Skeleton Crew!

Todd “Suds” Sedlacek

Great episode as usual Sean! I share many of your frustrations but am hopeful for the future. BTW - Jimmy, can I still be Suds?

Sean W. from Warsaw

Thanks Suds! I still strive to be optimistic. Been thinking on what Jimmy said, about how SW is way bigger than the folks running the show right now. That's been going through my head a good deal, which is of course the right perspective to have. Doesn't mean I'm gonna suddenly like the stories I have big issues with (like Aftermath!) but it keeps me more hopeful, for sure. The flame does still burn in this Star Wars fan's torch! 🔥

Scott St. Louis

Thanks for the Batman talk. I started watching Caped Crusader with my 14-year old and next thing I knew my wife and daughter were also watching! Great Q&A! Looking forward to more!

Great conversation Sean and Jimmy. About the last part, about what comes next, and maybe sometimes it's better to leave it to our imagination... I'm not sure Lucasfilm realise they do have a decision to make, that will influence futur stoytelling. Sometimes, i feel like creators don't realise that some choices, while interresting at the moment, impact the franchise forever negatively. Here are 2 exemples: The Rule of 2. Lucas wanted the Sith to be cunning and manipulative. But we end up with the Sith not showing for 1000 years, then we get Maul, Dooku, Vader and Palpatine, and no more. This killed any form of conflict we had in our heads, video games, RPG, EU, whatever, about battles between dark side and light side users. Since then, creators have been forced to use circumvoluted ways to explain the presence of dark side users, like Ventress, Inquisitors, etc... really annoying. The other exemple is in the Sequels: deciding that Han and Leia only have 1 kid, and he doesn't make it... nor does the couple. Means that goind foreward, any hero needs to spend time to bond with the fans, and must work hard to make us care. What a waste. We all would have cared for a Jaina or whatever for the simple fact that it was Han's kid. So, back to my original "decision" Disney has to address: What is the political state of the galaxy after TROS? That galaxy has seen an old republic that failed. An oppressive empire. Toppled by rebels. A New republic that failed AGAIN to protect them. An oppressive First Order. Toppled again by some resistance. So, do we go for a third Republic?? I feel the best option, and most realistic, is to consider that planets and systems just decides to have protectionist approach, and all keep to themselves. This make a super fertile ground for stories. You can have small scale wars. Warlords. Alliances. Worlds of crime and chaos. Paceful ones. Pirates. Local military. Some world can be Jedi friendly. Others not so, considering that space wizards are the source of all troubles. You can have Jedi play a role of wandering vigilante, or hired pacemakers. Thoughts?

The Penguin is a must watch, even if someone’s not a big Batman fan. Quality HBO television.

Hoo boy do I have some thoughts on all this! But soooo many.... This sounds like a great Q and A topic in and of itself, really. Lol However, I do talk with Jimmy about a lot of this stuff in many of my first Q and A's with him. Look up my name here in the search bar and check 'em out if you haven't already! 👍

Sean W. from Warsaw

I've heard someone say his wife got into it without liking "superhero stuff" because she like crime dramas and does not like superheroes. Lol Sounds like more of a down to earth show!

Great listen and anything Batman has my ears peaked. Death of the Family was the story line of joker wearing his face to prove Batman needs no one but him. The Batman storyline of Death of the family, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, one of the best Batman/joker storylines. Not to be confused with Death in the family when Jason Todd was killed by Joker.

Sean always manages to bring his A Game! Super convo. Love his honesty about his feelings towards the SW Saga at the moment. Thanks guys, excellent Q&A! 👏🏼

Sean W. from Warsaw

I was wondering about that for a sec. Thanks for the clarification! Thar latter one is a favorite, for sure. I remember reading that as a kid tucked under the blankets with a flash light. Lol
