The Weekly RFR - October 4, 2019

We continue our deep dive into the “Star Wars” chapter of Bob Iger’s book, featuring behind-the-scenes revelations about the Disney acquisition of Lucasfilm and George Lucas’s desire to remain involved in the creation of the Sequel Trilogy. Was Lucas betrayed and who betrayed him? We once again spotlight excerpts from the books and piece together a timeline of events. As Triple Force Friday launches the merchandising push for THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, we consider many of the challenges STAR WARS collectors face during a time of change for the hobby. Star Wars In Pop Culture returns with a trip to STAR TOURS for THE GOLDBERGS, and Jon Favreau’s THE CHEF SHOW pays a visit to Dave Filoni at Skywalker Ranch. Plus, Swank has a run-in with Ohio law enforcement. Here what happened and how Star Wars saved the day!

Man, after last week's show got me all riled up I'm afraid this week is gonna do the same.... But I remember that Lucas somehow was able to put the betrayal behind him to work on TROS and The Mandalorian. If he can put it behind him, so can I! I'm determined to not let it het me down! I'm excited for TROS and Mandalorian, dang it! Even more because GL is back!

Thanks for the shout out Jason. I had fun getting the Jabba’s playset for Jason. Just need to get it in the mail. Still have over an hour to listen to on the way home tonight.

Fantastic show! So much excellent legwork putting together that time line. One tidbit I just came across in the Solo Ultimate Guide book from Titan. It's interviewing KK and the question to her mentions that George suggested several stand-alone films to her (presumably before the sale as you discussed) and Solo was apparently one of the first he suggested. Just something interesting to know
