RFR is coming to you a little early this week so you have time to listen before the RFR Mandalorian After Show LIVE tomorrow night!

With less than a month until THE RISE OF SKYWALKER opens, we look at some of the latest Episode IX headlines including a review of the new "social media" trailer featuring new footage and excerpts from a recent Kathleen Kennedy Rolling Stone interview on the future of the franchise and her role within it. Plus, we look at the new Anthony Daniels book "I Am C-3PO" with audio highlights about his strained relationship with Kenny Baker, his insight into Mark Hamill's return to STAR WARS and a little information about shooting TROS.

Nice! A new episode of RFR always makes getting up at 1:30am in the morning for work worth it

This is a great start to my Friday off

I got a new coworker to download the Mandalorian shows - he's really enjoying them. He really enjoys how excited you guys are. Hopefully, he'll become a subscriber and a Patreon!

The c-3po audio book seems like a must listen. I don’t think I can ever forgive the people in charge of the sequel trilogy. There is nothing endearing about these movies. I think my favorite scene in all the movies is when R2 plays Leia’s old hologram message to inspire Luke. That’s it! I don’t think I even want to see The Rise of Skywalker. There is no way it’s going be even somewhat satisfying. It’s only going to make me think of all the miss opportunities.

Call me crazy but I think Jimmy's kylo impressions have a tad of macho Man Randy Savage in them. Ha

Can't wait to listen. But really dying to hear thoughts about the latest Madalorian tonight. Hot damn! That was a good one.

Great show as always guys! I do have to point out though that when you say that ALL of Star Wars fandom was together on loving the 3 OT movies and there wasn't any criticism of ESB... You are talking about us who were between 4-15 years old for the most part. I remember a lot of criticism from "Adults" about ESB at first and especially for ROTJ. If you talk to kids in the same age range right now I find most of them love TLJ.

Just left you guys a voice mail expressing some concerns for TROS after hearing the KK interview. Man, after hearing it it made me clearly understand why the ST feels so redundant.... It's like it repeats so much of the same stuff from the OT that the OT events don't feel as unique. The ST seems to diminish it, rather than enrich it. Now I know why: The desire of a movie exec who felt Star Wars was outdated and irrelevant in the modern world in spite of its timelessness. Star Wars has never needed to be updated. Nor did it need the "soft reboot" of the ST. I don't know how to reconcile everything, but I'm gonna keep trying to look at what we've been given and keep giving it a fair shake before I give final judgment. Anyone out there who really appreciates the ST who could give someone like me some much needed pointers? I've written quite a number of essays trying to figure this thing out, as the RFR hosts can testify (I'm super nerdy like that), but I just don't know.... Thoughts?

Also, Jimmy, you discussed your belief that the concept of the balance of the Force is just a religious belief that couldn't actually happen. So...why would TFA's very first lines of dialogue be all about the balance of the Force? The ST seems to be making a pretty bold statement right from the outset as to what it's all about. What do you make of this?

Off topic a little here, but are Jimmy & Jason doing a live after-show tonight on the Mando? If so- anyone know what time this starts and where to watch/listen?

Seems like a long time, so it was fantastic to listen to RFR as motivation during my long run through the English countryside. Thank you so much for the “no spoiler” policy for The Mandalorian. I have muted all of my Star Wars feeds and I am mostly avoiding all social media, so RFR is now my ONLY Source For The Force (until April 2020). Great show!
