Welcome to RFR Comlink, our latest exclusive show for Patreon! This is an all-feedback edition of Rebel Force Radio featuring only members of RFR on Patreon. We asked for your voice mail & voice memos earlier this week and you delivered, making this show possible and more fun than a barrel of Kowakian monkey lizards! One a month, we'll release an episode of RFR Comlink featuring your feedback and we won't finish until it's all been heard. Star Wars or any topic...Nothing is off the table. "Star Wars Etc." is the motto, just like with RFR Rush Hour. This premiere episode is made available to all members of RFR on Patreon, but future eps will be only accessible to the RFR Rush Hour tier and above. Plus, RFR ALL ACCESS will also get the full show video of each episode! (Look for the first episode to drop soon). No more Rush Hour?!?! I loved the Star Wars etc conversation! 😭

Bummed to hear about the end of Rush Hour, but glad it's officially being ended (vs petering out) and being replaced by new content...though only once a month is a shame vs in theory weekly rush hour.

Thanks for taking my call! I think you might have misunderstood my final point. I think you guys mentioned last show that there were roughly 40 unused Clone Wars scripts when the show ended. A few have been used for books and we have the new upcoming episodes but that would still leave 15-20 unused scripts. Why not make them into a Comic Book series? Maybe they would have to be non-cannon as some of the material might conflict with what’s been released since Disney bought Lucasfilm. Just hate to see that material collect dust when we’d have fun seeing it. That’s what my last point was. Sorry to not be more clear. Keep up the great work!

Michael McManus

Thanks for using my memo in the show guys! Sorry to hear that Rush Hour is going away but I think this show will be a great replacement for it. Always like to hear what everyone else is thinking about Star Wars.

Sean W. from Warsaw

You guys brought up how ridiculous getting caught up in "canon" can be sometimes. It's so refreshing to hear that! I think what so many people overlook is the story, and instead focus on what "really" happened. In doing so, they often lose sight of how it's only one interpretation of many interpretations of what's between episodes or movies. Really, the only thing that's "official" is the movies and animated stuff. Anything and everything else is just interpretation, whether good or bad. I hope more people can gain that perspective, in particular the folks at Lucasfilm who get too caught up in all the fine points and only end up putting themselves in a corner. We'd have a lot more devotion to good storytelling itself, like character development and mythology, rather than minutiae. The old EU novels did this best, even when it didn't always tell the best story. No one was limited by this or that, because they thought the story of the films was over, and everything was up for grabs. Nothing was off the table. That's what we need again. If something crosses into something else that seems contradictory, who cares? It's the story that counts. And even in our own history things happen all the time that seem contradictory or don't always add up. In stories, that's just part of the fun!

So is Comlink just Star Wars topics, or can we go into Rush Hour, etc like topics too?

I guess we were the ones who were confused I think because there are already a couple of novels and comic books that cover some of the material. But I'm with you...Put it all out in a trade paperback. At one point, I was bold enough to suggest to Lucasfilm that they let me produce audio drama versions of the scripts with the voice actors. That didn't go over with them, I guess. We also tried to get the green light on producing the Prequel Trilogy as radio dramas. We came close, but then Lucas sold to Disney and talks ended. We had a good crew on board as well. The plan was again, to use Clone Wars voice actors. So bummed it never happened! - JMac

Jimmy-The old Radio Dramas were awesome! The first one was the best. Brian Dailey and team did a great job. The stuff they added and then the scene with his friends was cool. I would’ve loved to have heard what you guys were proposing with the Prequels. You did a great job on the two Smugglers episodes.
