The Chicago Crew is back for more Star Wars Etc conversation and this time, we are joined by guest Freak Billy Mac, who brings his extensive knowledge of movies to the table along with stories and a lot of laughs. We look back to summer '89 and the release of the first Tim Burton "Batman" film. Plus, conversation about the challenges of being a Star Wars collector, a review of some fan-produced Star Wars trading cards, Broom Boy, HBO Max makes it's debut, and the likelihood of Star Wars Celebration Anaheim happening is slim-to-none.

Love having this new show! Great concept, and an all around good hang!

The big #2 finally dropped! Hey hey!

I said Rebels was influenced by Spirited Away but I meant Princess Mononoke (same studio and director), though Spirited Away does have some influences on Rebels too.

Where’s the JMac Batman picture?! I saw 89’ Batman at a drive-in last night! Very appropriate for this episode!

Great episode guys. Lots of fun random conversations. I love sports but know nothing about hockey so that was a new conversation for me. Wonder bread cards, I think I have one or two in my collection. Wasn’t there something similar for Battlestar Galactia?

Tyler Page

Thanks Kirk! Patreon is weird sometimes like that. I see it on mine from May 28th but I’m not sure why it wouldn’t pop for you.

Found it! I was looking in the comments to this thread! Lolol I love it! It shouldn’t been JMAC instead of Kilmer/Clooney!!!

Brian Klein

Yes, Wonder Bread did something similar the next year for BSG, I had a few but never tried to finish the collection. If you Google it, you can get the whole set for about 50 Cent per card :)

Eric from Phoenix

Brian, thanks for the response. The funny thing about Wonder Bread is I don’t know that my mom ever bought it. Too expensive :). But maybe I talked her into it a couple times to get cards? I think a couple old ladies at church brought me cards on Sundays too. They watched my brother and I when my mom worked and knew I was a fan. Now I need to go digging for the cards :)

Hockey talk is always welcome. Hockey and Star Wars are my two favorite things!

How does one become a Babu Freaks rep in the North East?
