We rock in the new year with RFR VIP Matt Rashid and a wide-ranging conversation about a ton of topics including the upcoming Star Wars streaming series like LANDO & ANDOR. Matt talks about some of the things he's looking forward to and some of his concerns. We talk about how current Star Trek has incorporated adult language and wonder if that type of dialog belongs in Star Wars. F*** you, Picard! We also talk about THE MANDALORIAN season two finale and the return of Luke Skywalker. Plus, the popularity of the MCU, wax packs, and Superman II.

Chut Chut! No conversation about this show? We wanna hear from you!

Chut chut Jim! dontcha worry...a JMac/Rashid QA is always a great convo starter! On my second listen thru as we speak.

Man, great hearing Matt back, at long last! I thought I had missed the ROTJ audio book convo for a while, but then double checked, only to wonder if something had happened to Matt. Glad he's doing good! Anyways, he had mentioned he had cried upon seeing Luke's return. I think a TON of people did, and rightfully so. It's a beautiful thing to cry in Star Wars, man. It's just a shame Lucasfilm has been making fun of that and ruining such a moment for people.... I thought we were over this nonsense. (If you haven't heard, Pablo Hidalgo was taking to Twitter again, but this time with the guy who made the amazing Vader fan film a while back.) And over Luke's return, no less. So, glad to hear some fans like yourselves showing how important Luke's return was to you and opening up those waterworks! Keeps the real heart in Star Wars. :D

Great Q&A.....as I've said before; QA challenges the Weekly RFR podcast, but will never surpass Jason & Jimmy. Honestly, I got nervous when I saw the "F***......." title, I thought it might be a redo of the Q&A #50. Steve really "channeled" F.J. DeSanto in that pod......Lol lol !!! Was still great.....thanks RFR.

Jeff Ulicny

Did I hear you use the word "Jagoff"? I thought that was only a Pittsburgh thing.

Peter Beisser

JMac, just catching up with the plethora of awesome content. I'm with Matt, before I found my local Philly area comic book store I got my books at a tabacco shop newsplace as a kid. Never smoked but I always equate that smell with comics.

Jared Cantor

I could listen to you guys discuss SW all day.

Matt Rashid

Thanks for the concern, Sean. Been juggling a lot of responsibilities lately. It gave me time to listen to the great Q&A you did. Really enjoyed it! Looking forward to the next one!

I agree Matt, that the way they did the slow roll-out of Luke at the end of Mando season 2 was genius, because I couldnt believe what I was seeing, so I’m glad I got a little chance to mentally adjust. The X-wing appeared, and I literally jumped up off the couch at the possibility of seeing Luke, then the green light saber appeared and (to my kids’ annoyance) I started chanting “they wont show Luke”, “they wont show us Luke”, then the glove appeared and I literally was pounding the wall with my fist going “its him!”, “its him!”, and I figured they would show him under his cloak and kicking butt, and then cut out, but then we got to see his face, and hear Mark Hamill’s voice, and I was stunned. I still get goosebumps! The first time I had ever gone to the movies was with my older brother and my mom, to stand in line for 2 hours in the rain to get tickets to Return of the Jedi, and it was like a huge party in the parking lot of the theater, then we got to go in and see the movie, and people were cheering, and my older brother was high-fiving me, it was amazing. Seeing Luke return now, watching the Mando with my own kids, it almost did surpass that original experience.

My wife and I are expecting out first child soon, so barring his arrival I should be on again in the coming weeks!

Antonio from NJ

Do we take it as LF is making fun or that Pablo Hidalgo is kinda an ass? I'm leaning towards the latter. And congrats sean!!!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Dang, that's awesome! Man, my heart was pounding at that last scene. Chills, man! We can't talk it up enough. :D

Sean W. from Warsaw

Thanks man! And yes, the latter. It's pretty clear what was going on. Apparently journalists and other officials hopped in to join the fray. So unprofessional.... Star Wars Theory is one of the coolest dudes out there, and Luke was a big hero to him, getting him through hard times as a kid.... I just don't understand the impetus for officials to do that to him.

Lol. I had the same ame type of reaction and there was annoyance to my wife and son when I saw that xwing... "There's no way they'll do it" I kept saying out loud

Regarding earthly profanity, earthly slang, (and blatant sex) in star wars (CF "f*** you, picard)... I'm no prude as it does not bother me in my entertainment but it does bug me when it's in the wars... The disney canon tie in material had a lot of it... I think that's when it first began appearing; at least when I started noticing it being used heavily... The last jedi was, I think, the first star wars film to have it (godspeed, big-@$$, etc)... I hope it's squashed and nowhere in new star wars. I don't even like the idea of a R rated film. Star wars is for family watching.... In regards to what profanity, earthly slang, etc to keep in star wars... I'd say what ever george let in his movies is the bar to measure by. Just my 2 cents. MTFBWY!

Just listened today. I'm a little behind on the Q&A episodes. Any way, regarding the MCU & the movie characters going to TV shows... If you mean "any character" then Scarlet Witch & Vision are not the first. The characters were mostly on one of two shows (both of which are now finished). Agent Coulson - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Nick Fury - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Maria Hill - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Agent Sitwell - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Lady Sif - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Peggy Carter - Agent Carter & Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D Younger Howard Stark - Agent Carter I watched both shows. 😊 So....there's always hope that we might get some crossover from Star Wars movies to TV.

Matt, great job as always! A couple comments :1) De-aging - I think Marvel has done this better in their movies. I’m not sure what the difference is but Sam Jackson looked like a younger Sam Jackson but the younger Luke was off. After watching the last Mando episode a few more times, it’s not as jarring. 2) Cuss words - I’m a prude when it comes to family oriented movies. I think Marvel pushed it a little too far at times and I wasn’t a huge fan of Captain America cussing. Maybe he did that in the comics? Just didn’t fit for me. 3) Mando feels - I couldn’t agree more. I loved season 1 but season 2 had many stand up and cheer moments. Pearl in the Krayt dragon, Boba Fett, Slave 1, Boba Fett kicking but and Luke. Awesome!!
