The RFR EARLY BIRD takes flight for the first time in the new year!

RFR returns for 2021! We are still buzzing after seeing Luke Skywalker in the season finale of THE MANDALORIAN. We try to pull back the curtain and learn how special effects wizardry made Luke’s return possible. We have a full review of the new STAR WARS: THE HIGH REPUBLIC comic and novel. Is it worthy of the hype? We discuss! We have highlights from recent interviews as Jon Favreau revealed info about THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT and Rosario Dawson talked about her debut as Ahsoka. Plus, Jason has been working with the Mando Mercs to create some Mandalorian armor for his son and RFR listeners send positive vibes via to CLONE WARS actor Tom Kane.

Train all day, rebel force podcast by night all day

So JMac says at one point in this episode that everyone in the chat is asking a question right now. How are folks watching them record live? I want in.

Patrick Leitzel

Hi! Just joined finally. Does RFR have a discord or is the Patreon kinda like their discord?

I’ve been asked about discord before. I don’t know what it is and I’m not interested in adding another social media account. Can someone tell me why we should have one? What is it?

Probably similar to reddit. But basically just a group chat for all RFR peeps. You can have different channels for different discussions. (examples: General chat, High Republic, Mando, Theories. I only ask because the main SW discord is just people arguing non-stop. I think RFR listeners are more civil. But completely understand if you don't want to! Just thought I'd ask.

I think it was a joke. Jason had kind of a surprised laugh when Jimmy said that. I was a question varied over from the q&a.

Just wanted throw my opinion out there: I LOOOOVE the clean Boba paint job and the Kilt/Robe. I immediately put it into my head canon that Boba painted up after Empire and had some nasty fights before Jedi.

Steven M DuBrey

Also am I the only one that assumes Book of Boba Fett is like Mandalorian season 2.5?Like separate “Chapters” of the same show and that’s where the name Book comes from?

I think it’ll definitely be connected in some way. Maybe not as thoroughly as Ahsoka or Rangers will be but something.

Blake Weaver

Great first official show of the year boys! I haven’t read my copy of Light of the Jedi yet but after listening to the show I feel I’m more mentally prepared for the read.

Noah Glasener

The whole time the guys were talking about Kathleen Kennedy being a liar, all I could hear was Madmonks “Lies” song playing in my head. It’s from the July 31st, 2020 episode... give it a listen. It’s a real gem👍thanks for the content J&J! Chut chut

Thanks, Steven. I'm dense. That's what happens when you're mainlining the show when it drops, sending work emails, and getting yelled at by the wife for not paying attention to her.

What do we expect? Just look at the debacle w cyberpunk game. I just assume anyone who is trying to sell me on something is being coy, or lying. I mean Filoni used to lie all the time about TCW and Rebels, but I guess its the intention. I wonder if Favreau's direct request to keep Book of Bobba announcement influenced how KK announced the next chapter.

Discord is like slack or aol chat rooms for us dinos. It's a place for live chat instead of threads and messages like this or reddit.

Was wondering if i should skip this show since I haven’t read it yet. I paused after the spoiler alert. Nothing major?

Blake Weaver

There are some to be honest. But with how they describe the overall story’s development and characters it didn’t bother me with what they revealed.

Sean W. from Warsaw

I've been out of the loop for a while, so I'm coming to this episode way later than usual. So glad to hear you guys are back! Great review of the High Republic stuff and everything else! Hey, is it too late to submit a voice message to Tom Kane...?
