The RFR Early Bird is back to provide this week's show way before anyone else gets it! And it's a good one too.

If Weird Al is the grandfather of all STAR WARS parody songs, then Mark Jonathan Davis aka Richard Cheese is the crazy uncle. Mark has been providing tons of Star Wars laughs over the past 2 decades via albums like “The Lounge Awakens” and songs like “The Phantom Medley”. We’re pleased to welcome him into The Cantina for fun conversation all about his Star Wars parodies, fandom and more. Plus, listener feedback, The Lemmy Trooper, and we go into the RFR Sound Lab to find a familiar and famous voice hidden within the RETURN OF THE JEDI Radio Drama.

You’re awake too late/early Jimmy! But thanks!

Sean W. from Warsaw

Oh man, I'm not too up and up on Star Wars parodies, but I know a guy who introduced me to Richard Cheese a few years ago. I always thought he and Weird Al need to do a duet or something. Lol To my ear, they sound so much alike (especially the Cantina song). Weird Al and Richard Cheese are about the only parody folks I listen to. Just classic! So great you guys are the first podcast to have him. Good win!

Travis Brooks

Nice topic for the lighter side of discussion. I didn't realize he was such a prolific singer! Thanks for having him on the show.

Jared Cantor

That EV/Lisa clip should definitely make its way to YouTube

Peter Beisser

Heal up Kevin Lyle if you're out there. We all hope to hear you on the show again soon!

Antonio from NJ

Great episode! Remember listening to the Cantina song in 6th grade on Elvis Duran in the Morning. Best way to wait for the bus hah. Though who the heck hates Grievous?! /s @Jimmy Do you mind passing Mark the following? Qrates is a platform that Mark should definitely check out. It is like GOFundMe but for pressing vinyl. I've supported a few projects and it has been great. And it protects the musician from having to commit to pressing 500 as the minimum is 100. And a project doesn't go forward without enough pledges. Can't imagine him not getting enough pledges especially if we leverage the RFR Patreon and fb communities. But at least it minimizes the risk of having to build a garage hah. https://qrates.com/why/crowdfunding

What a hilarious and awesome interview! I can’t wait to check this guys stuff out!

Jeff Ulicny

Great interview. I saw Richard back in 2017 at the House of Blues in Cleveland. Great show!

Andrew Fearnside

Great episode with Richard. I am one of those who always thought it was Weird Al Yankovic singing the intro. Everyday’s school day!

Javier Solorzano

Your guest Richard, was hilarious & very entertaining. Great interview.

Rob Heaton

I love when you guys uncover quirky little corners of the fandom like this! It's also nice that you can coexist with people who cringe at the prequels. What a fun episode!

Jared Cantor

Great interview! Love the new Yoda questionnaire theme music! And I laughed so hard when he thought he could pull some new trivia out with Lippincott haha

Dan Larsen

Great interview. Mark Jonathan Davis is a super funny and talented dude. Any idea what the link is to purchase his The Lounge Awakens CD? I’d be interested in picking one up before they’re gone.

Daniel

Great episode guys. And I’m with Jason. I need The Lounge Awakens on vinyl!

Jamie Johnson

What was the giveaway about, and where do we sign up

Philip Ehlke

Brilliant Sound Lab segment! That was some impressive wizardry

Eric from Phoenix

Great Job JMac and Jason! The interview was great and I really hope I win that cd. I think I’m probably one of the only Patreon Pals that still prefer cds over digital.

Steve Gilmore

I call “Droids with Asthma” as a band name!

John Riley

Offbeat RFR. Lots of fun this week guys! Thanks!
